hyper 7 tires
hi i have nearly done the runnig in process and i went out today and the tires came off when i went round a corner shall i super glue them on
the engine runs very blubary and goes slow is this because it is do rich and what should the engine sound like when it is at full throttle Thanks |
RE: hyper 7 tires
yeah super glue works but you can also use the tire glue found at any lhs. The factory default breakin settings are really rich and you will need to lean it out(alot in some cases). I recommend buying a temp gun so you can check the teperatures before you start leaning it. But like you said you are nearly done so you might not want to think about leaning it a lot. Just enough to get the engine running around 220+

RE: hyper 7 tires
Thanks
the engine temperatue is not near 220+ i can put my hand on it and it will not hurt at all no matter how long its on i am using 10% nitro Thanks |
RE: hyper 7 tires
u should be useing at least 15% nitro.... u need to get it to atleast 200 so the motor will break in .. if u dont get the motor up in temps u will do more harm then help.....

RE: hyper 7 tires
oh yea hey hyper,
goto the lhs and get some ca glue it is for the tires and wheels :) |
RE: hyper 7 tires
Hyper,
Here's a rough idea of what the engine should sound like. Again, this is pretty basic as the engine still needs to be tweaked a bit however you can get an idea of what it should sound like. http://home.comcast.net/~dagass/JD_8_port_2.MPG Now if you really want a treat, ask Bowtie to post his WS7 making some noise! That would be awesome!!!:D |
RE: hyper 7 tires
hi what fule are you using there and myn hyper 7 sunds nothing like that when you go full throttle it sounds like it is going to stall
have you got any vidieos of your car or anthoer hyper 7 at full power when it is on the ground Thanks |
RE: hyper 7 tires
I use 20% Trinity Platinum. I'll see if I can dig up any other vids of the Hyper on the ground.

RE: hyper 7 tires
Her ya go Hyper. Here's a vid I took of my PBS the day after I got it.

RE: hyper 7 tires
cool that is nothing like mine the rpm is way higher on yours than mine my gess i am runnning it way too rich, was that run in the day after you got it or did you get it second hand
Thanks |
RE: hyper 7 tires
I bought it brand spankin' new!! I broke it in the day before and that video was taken after I started adjusting the needles from the break in settings.

RE: hyper 7 tires
hi cant wait till i have leanded mine out i am just doing it 1/8th of a turn per tank untill it runs like yours
|
RE: hyper 7 tires
Lol! Just make sure that you tune the HSN first. Then go back and tune the LSN and you will be fine! Good luck!
|
RE: hyper 7 tires
hi what the is the hsn is that the one with a black screw and gold out side if it is how many turns out do you have yours and what is the lsn i think you mean high speed needle first and then lo speed needle
|
RE: hyper 7 tires
Sorry! The HSN (high speed needle) is the black screw with the gold body that sits on top of the carb. the LSN (low speed needle) is the one on the side of the carb on the throttle arm (this is assuming you have a Hyper 8 port). My needle settings will differ from yours because of the difference in temps. There is no one perfect setting that works for all. As a rule of thumb, lean the HSN until you get good rpm's and the buggy reaches a good top speed with a trail of smoke coming out of the pipe. Once thats done, go to the LSN and lean it (1/8 turns) until the buggy accelerates nicely.
A good way to check if you're in the neighborhood on the LSN is to use the pinch test. With the buggy warmed up, pinch the fuel tubing just above where it attaches to the carb and hold it until the engine dies. If the engine gains a few thousand rpm's before it dies, you're too rich. If the engine just dies, you're too lean. What you're aiming for here is a little gain in rpms (roughly a few hundred) and then the engine will die. Once you're there, you're reasonably well tuned. |
RE: hyper 7 tires
hi thanks its the hyper 21 4port but the needles are the same
Thanks |
