How would you know?
Hiya guys,
Maybe a silly qyestion but after spending soo much on my Hyper 7 Pcr i am just wondering how i would know if i didnt run it in properly? Would it stall reguarly or what? I am hoping i have i let it idle for 1 tank of fuel then through the next tank i let it roll around (Very slowly) then from third tank up i started leanin it out running around 194 degrees farenhight and i know optimum is around 220 or so so still havent completly leaned it out and all ready run through around 8 tanks So what would i notice if it wasnt run it properly? Thanks Guys |
RE: How would you know?
Hi ben,
From my experince, i would now disasembled the engine, if you spot the black node on the head of cylnder then your setting is to lean. Check your crankshaft and all the bearings for wearing after the break in. a simple methode i used to do is running the engine and stop it and then start it again, if the engine start easily then it was a good break in. |
RE: How would you know?
I have a temp gun so i know at the momment i am running it to rich as its only 190 degrees i have heared optimum is around 220 so i am pretty sure i could still lean it out a bit! and it starts first time every time now so i suppose thats a good sign!
Would i not notice a driving difference if it wasnt run in properly? When i say run in properly i dont mean if i have finished running it in cause i have finished doing that i mean if i did a good job doing it? |

RE: How would you know?
an engine is fully run in when you get it up to temperature & remove the glowplug, then turn it over by hand, there should be no feeling of nip or pinch like this when the engine is hot! thats when you know its fully broken in;)
