kyosho mp-6

Hi guys,

I just picked up a used mp-6 inferno and I have no experience in buggys or cars so I need a little info.
When I got it it was very dirty the muffler was positioned wrong, the fuel outlet was ripped off, it made a mess inside the body.
So I decided to rebuild it starting by the engine(the plastic pull start was also cracked)no big deal since I have been into planes and helis for a while.

I want to know if the side guards from the mp-5 will fit the mp-6?
I want to use the k&n air filter, are they any good?
I am also thinking of counter sinking all the holes on the frame, what do you guys think?
Should I bother or just sell it?

What all do you have other than the standard MP-6? How much do you want to spend....that's the question....

I own an MP-6 and it will compete with anything out there. I put a Sirio .21 aac Buggy engine with a Fioroni slider clutch and an RD Logics 1-peice pipe. I also upgraded to mostly Hardcore Racing parts. DO NOT use the K+N filter. It looks pretty, but you'll suck dirt into your engine in no time. Just get a Motor Saver filter, or someting like it.

Bigbademan,

I wish you would have answered earlier,I put a bid on one on Ebay.Oh well, I will use it for display if I win.

So you say I can still get parts for it from hcr,I will check it out.By the way did you countersink the frame?

Ghost Rider, I have just finished a total re-build on a wrecked MP6. The MP5 side guards are the same for the MP6. I didn't bother sinking the holes on the old chassis, I just got a new counter sunk one without the cut out for a pullstart motor as I fitted an RB C4. Parts are still available for the MP6, you just have to look for them. It's a good idea to put heavier diff lube in the MP6 than you would normally use, this helps reduce the gyro effect. IMO it's a good buggy but a bit top heavy compared to the 7.5 and also lacks the adjustments that the later Inferno's have. Still a nice bit of kit if you like Kyosho's.

I have found that Tower Hobbies (www.towerhobbies.com)is the only reliable source for MP- 6 parts. I also have a Landmax which is even harder to find parts for.
I also have an after-market chassis, which is countersunk. I was lucky to find a car that already had the new chassis and all of the hardcore parts already installed.

Which of the hardcore racing parts will fit the MP-6. All they list are MP75 parts.

My MP-6 has the front and rear shock towers, servo tray, front and rear suspension braces, and the center diff brace. The car had all of these installed on it when I bought it , so I am not sure about availability now. I have never bent or broke a Hardcore part, so I can attest to thier reliability. I have pics of it posted in my gallery. I'll have to take one with the body off of it.
