What buggy to get
 

Ok im looking into getting a new 1/8th scale buggy, as of now im looking at getting a mugen MBX5 and OS VZB motor. I work at my LHS so i get a really good deal on all the prices and parts are not a real problem. So let me know what you think of the buggy and and other alternatives in the same catigory as the mbx5

the MBX5 is an awesome buggy... as is the K3.... as is the PCR Pro..... And the TTR S2.... and the Storm Pro..... etc. It is all how much you want to spend for a kit... and how well you can drive. :) i have a PCR and it is fine with me. I am competing with the "top of the line" buggies with no problems at all. I threw some mugen 1.1 clutch springs and some mugen white shoes in ther to keep up off of the line, and some nice electronics. My buggy is right up there with them because i can drive, and a lot of questions answered by the guys on here have helped me with tuning. Hope that helps.

yea cost really isnt an issue for me, i work at my LHS and get good prices on everything. As for driving i race onroad and 1/10 scale 4wd electric ofroad so driving not a real issue here. I just wanted to hear what other people think about other cars.

Yea, if you could drive you could beat a K3 at the track with a 9.6 volt Tyco car.:D

i run a k3 with everything on it : all the hop up are carbon fiber or titanium.
airtronics 94359 steering and 94360 throttle, mx8 radio tx rx + failsafe
engine: os vz - b spec 2 - great power and very easy to tune i keep up with the ws7ii on my track off the line and in the strait.

i had an s2 eb4 pro it was great i used to get 4-6 place and with the k3 same lines i an 1-3 all the time

again if you got the driving figured out then go for the premium hardware. and if you get dealer prices the choise is clear.


my car set up is the most common with pros. from mr k himself to most of the top 10 in the world.

ps. the mugen is a fast buggy but i think that from the box the k3 is the buggy of today.



ps2: i am waiting for the new buggies: kyosho 777. eb-4 s3 (looks amazing .......) ( if someone knows what is coming out soon please write)

it depend on your track.

the mbx-5 is a better handling buggy around a corner and on a smooth track. as where the k3 will beat it over ruff rutty ground and big jumps.

if your track is smooth with not to many jumps then i would choose the mbx-5 but if not go for the k3.

p.s if you don't want to put that much into a buggy go the mbx-5 on ruff stuff the mbx-5 is not going to loose in a club meet race only at nationals levels.

it is all up to you

decide if your track is ruff or smooth then go from there.

I wouldnt recommend digital servos if your gonna race. Well it doesnt matter if you like charging your batteries after every 5 minute race or just buy alot of batteries. but you can get an equally fast/strong analog servo that will use a little less juice.
