How does this work? How does one go about "porting" and engine? Please explain.

you'll need some very accurate measuring tools & some very precise grinding and polishing tools;)
add that to a complete knowledge of 2 stroke engines & a few years experience and you should be almost there;)
be prepared to ruin a few engines while you're learning;)

I reckon you should have a go man !!! do it its so easy and its fun and its satisfying !!! youll need a dremmel tool with a polish bit and a conical grinding bit, singer oil, cut and polish compound and patience !!! and this link should give you the rest !
