hyper 7 steering loss?????
 

I was running my H7 Pcr and collided with another car, the steering (to the left) got a lot larger turning radius in it. I look at everything and nothing looks bent or broken, the radio epa is set at 125% and I hear the steering hitting the end(locks). Why did I lose radius? any Ideas? Also has anyone took a dremel to the pivot ball cups to get a tighter steering radius?? Any help would be great. The car turnes fine to the R but about doubled in radius to the L ???????????

My Hyper 7 had a collision, except it involved a 1" plywood wall, and a snotty little kid on my frequency. Needless to say, my steering had similar problems, would steer fine in one direction, and the other direction was horrible. It took me a while to figure out, that my steering knuckle had cracked, and the CVD on the same side was slightly out of whack. I was able to salvage the CVD by putting it on a vice and straightening it for the next heat, but had to replace the knuckle with one from a 9.5......since then, never had a problem.

If that's not the case, check your servo gears, you may have stripped them in one direction.....personally, I would unassemble the entire front end, including the diff, and check for damage...

Well if your still running the stock servo, tyou've probably knacked it, Or there is a slight bend in the front lower pivot ball on the affected side. Maybe the Horn has slipped round on the servo outputor the fornt lower hinge plate has cracked (the one behind the front bumper. OR your grubs are too tight in the hubsagainst the balls.

I am using a Hitec 645 and I am almost positive that the servo is fine.I can hear it hitting the stops and flexing the chassis when it hits the end of its travel. The bent pivot ball my be possible, I haven't torn into it yet but it is steering full travel to the stops, thats why I am leaning toward the bent pivot ball because it seems the geometry ha changed.

9.5 knuckles and Hyper 7 knuckles are interchangeable? Id like to try that, my LHS always has the hyper cnc hubs in but they wont order 9.5 cause they dont sell..[:@]

It was the bottom 2 pivot balls, they were bent back a bit..Thanks for the advice as always.
