New Hyper 7 Pro UK

The new Pro-UK is a Hyper 7 specifically designed for the type of tracks and racing found in the UK.

Sounds Good

It is good and actually a steal for the price. Still cheaper than a Kanai 3, 777 or MBX 5 and definately a higher spec. Even the rolling chassis version comes with a 2 peice 063 pipe and the new 6 screw CNC shock towers, Spider F/C/R and the directional spike tyres as standard. Yum Yum. There's 3 at my local track and they look sooooo sweet, it seems a shame to embarass them with an old RTR.

RE: New Hyper 7 Pro UK

i have a question generally on hyper 7's but partly just for the pro as well:
do the pro parts fit the standard hyper 7 i.e can i buy a standard hyper 7 now and then buy the pro parts for it if i feel that i need them.
also i always thought pivot ball suspension was better than c-hubs and yet the rtr hyper 7 has pivot balls and the pro has c-hubs.[sm=confused.gif]

also which is the best deal on a hyper 7, I don't need a starter box right away if it works out cheaper, i already have radio glo-starts etc. I want the car to have a go at rallycross and then be upgraded if required.
budget is about. £200-300 although if it is a really good deal then i can save up more and wait.

OK best Hyper 7 on a budget would be the PBS for £360 almost all on-line shops are doing it for this price (RRP£400). Try [link=http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=16452]H7 PBS.[/link] but you'll need another 40 quid for fuel and batteries.

RE: New Hyper 7 Pro UK

Answer the question on upgrades:
H7 PBS does not allow you to use the top plate or front support arm from the Pro Kit. To use those 2 parts you need C-Hub. Other than that all other parts on Pro kit will fit PBS.

I have the PBS and bought a lot of the Pro kit parts later as hop-ups. Will most likely put C-Hub on front later.

RE: New Hyper 7 Pro UK

TA DAAAAA! Also note that the Ackerman holes difer slightly between the front shock towers on the PBS and C-Hub but you can still make them fit.

What engine & pipe is that?

sh0wtime 07-07-2004 01:26 AM

RE: New Hyper 7 Pro UK

i know Alex is a Hyper guy through & through so i'd say its a Hyper 8 port Pro engine & probably an Ofna 086 pipe!
its not an RB or Novarossi pipe as the pressure nipple fitting on those is square not round;)

mk999 07-07-2004 02:44 AM

RE: New Hyper 7 Pro UK

i realise the pbs is the best deal as you get radio starter box etc. but i already have these is the pbs really a better car or is it just more expensive because of radio etc. i can get a standard hyper 7 (not pbs not sport not pro just hyper 7) in a kit, which i would prefer to an rtr cos i like to know how to put it back together:D. with engine and pipe for about 320-350 and thats with the hyper 7 8 port race engine and a tuned pipe

RE: New Hyper 7 Pro UK

go with what you think is best i have heard the starter box isn't that flash anyway the radio and servos aren't that good so you are better off spend ing the money from the starter box servos and radio into better quailty stuff. just my opinion

mk999 07-07-2004 03:14 AM

RE: New Hyper 7 Pro UK

Thanks. From what people have said the kit is much better anyway, pivot balls or c-hubs seems to be personal preference and this is my first rallycross car so i haven't got a preference yet!! and i plan to get a futaba 3pm later anyway so... the hyper 7 it is (no name after hyper 7 just hyper 7, i wish they would name the midrange kit it'd be so much easier.:D

Haha Adam, I finally caught you out. LOL, yes it is a Hyper21 8 port Pro engine but the pipe is an RD Logics. Definately better quality thean the NovaRossi 9853 I've got in my hand right now and am about to mount on a Infinity Samurai 521.

I think i found better!! Hyper 7 standard kit the one with the purple parts, steel diffs etc. with hyper 21 4-port engine......

£250 at three5models

RE: New Hyper 7 Pro UK

No you haven't. That'll be an Old RTR (I have one) and no radio gear comes and have plastic chassis braces and they are pullstart engines. Also with the PBS you get a Starter box, fuel bottle, Uni bones on the front, 8 Port engine, 4 way wrench, pre glued tyres and a glow plug. By the time you've bought what you need it easily more than a PBS.

yes you can if you just want to keep on throwing money at it:eek:

better off saving up a bit & going for the Pro UK;)
bettter spec car & cheaper in the long run!

Da Smak 07-09-2004 02:00 AM

RE: New Hyper 7 Pro UK

Thanks Adam that was my point entirely. £220 for a car that needs £150 spending to make it worth bashing, and thats not including a high torque servo. The sport IMO is lower than base model.

mk999 07-09-2004 03:10 AM

RE: New Hyper 7 Pro UK

actually that is for a kit with steel geared diffs cvd's on the front, full spec here: http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/hob_hyp7.htm and you just said it has a pullstart engine, so i don't need a starter box and i have radio gear (besides the high torque servo, hitec £25) and this can be ugraded to the pro but is a higher spec than the sport you may be right that the PBS is a better, well I could say kit but it's an RTR, but i already have the stuff I need to start it and i earn at most £20 a week so saving up for the pro could take up to three months, why wait that long when i can get a kit now and upgrade it if I think it needs it, normally i would save up for the better model but with ho-bao hop-ups so cheap i'd prefer to be driving than sitting at home waiting until i have enough cash. As for the plastic chassis braces £20 for some metal ones. The engine; i will get a better one as soon as the 4 port dies on me and upgrading to starter box and no pullstart will be one of the first things i do. According to my calculations that works out about £100 cheaper and thats with an engine i would need with the pro anyway. And can i just add that i'm not having a go at you for helping, just explaining the reasons for my choice. How do you get £150 to make it a worthy car???
