Plugs?
just wondering, does the hobao hyper 7 PBS rtr come complete with a glow plug?
ang just wondering. i will be using 25% nitro in the 8 port and was just wondering, what plug should i use for it. thanks |
RE: Plugs?
Yes it does, A McCoy mc9 to exact. But at the momen i would say use a #8. I've run an OS A8 for over a month now without having to swap it. Come October we may have to mve towards a warmer plug say a #7. But for now break it in with the 9 then tune and run it on an 8.
I'm also wondering whereabouts in Dorset are you? |
RE: Plugs?
Hmm..thats weird...the past two hyper 7 pcr rtr's I got didnt come with a glow plug in them. Just a plastic wrapper over the head.
|
RE: Plugs?
But then again I do remember using mc-8 and mc-9's in them when using 30% maxy's...also dont forget to add a head shim to that head for clearance for that 25%. might not be necessary for 25%, but better be safe than detonate.

RE: Plugs?
It aint necessary for 25% as the engine was designed for it. But the PCR is OFNA influenced and luckily they dont get involved here in the UK. But the PBS definately comes with 1 #9 plug stuffed in the same bag as the instuctions.

RE: Plugs?
for anything aboutve 20% I use a cold plug such as the o.s. A5 or R5(Same plugs just different colors) I have 2 gallons through my RG and am using the same A5 plug that i broke it in with. The thing just wont crap out on me lol.

RE: Plugs?

i'm just getting the info first, so that i know the stuff i need to know before i start. thanks all |
RE: Plugs?
Well that would be a bit of a trek. I was thinking if you were in north Dorset the it's only 45 mins to our track but I think you'd be looking at a good 2 hours, maybe a bit less. But if you get BRCA membership then you could come on up when we have a race day. We are very rapidly getting our track up to national standard and are at this time massively improving the jumps. We are also I believe going to build an Oval track (and we have more than enough space for it) next to the rallyX track as the pushbike speedway racers are crying about us using the Oasis one. Which is why there's been no vids lately. They dont pay for it so they have no rights IMO. But back to our scene, if anyone is interested in joining our club which is 50 strong now come on down on a sunday morning around 10 am (gates are normally open 9:30 but no track time before 10) If your a BRCA member you'll be able to run for a small fee but if not you can join there and then you to can have a play. RE: Plugs?
thanks ever1. 1 more thing. for the UK version of the PBS, do i still need to loosen the glow plug on break in and after?
thanks |
RE: Plugs?
Only loosen it if your having troubles starting, after it starts dont leave the plug loose, tighten it down.
|
RE: Plugs?
you will do for about the first 10 or so tanks. but it's always best to prime these engines with the plug out too. Mind the spray.
|
RE: Plugs?
Yea turns out my H7's didnt come with McCoy plugs...it came with Picco ones.
