Is this RB Conept a RIP OFF?????

1 Attachment(s)
I bought my buggy used about a 3 weeks ago. I was taking off the engine to put on new clutch shoes when I noticed that on the side of the engine it said ( CS ). But the guy I bought it from said it was a S711 engine. The head was scratched up so I really can not see what its says. I do see a 7 but it is hard to read. Can someone tell me what this is and is it as powerful as the S711 engine or is this it the S711 engine. I looked at the RB CS engine and it had a black cooling head. Can anyone help me out in this issue??

That is S711 RB puts weird things on the side of the engines it you really want to find out pull the head off count the ports and you should have 7 ports and 1 exost port so a total of 8 ports and that whould be a s711

my s7 says cs

c5 says c5

My S7 says CS too.

My CS Says CS though and so does a S5 i think? (could be wrong on that last one)?
you more than likely have anS7II though;)

I believe that RB was using there cases from there CS or C5 (how ever you want to perceive it) for almost all there mills.
Hope that shead some light.

actually the CS,S5 & S7II all use the CS crankcase! the C5 only uses the C5 crankcase!
they are 2 different casings;) i still say the engine you got IS an S7II;)

so would this mean that you could use a piston and liner out of a s7II in an rb s5?

Yup-

C5 uses C5 case- not CS!

To me it looks like a 3-port or 5-port Eco-RB,Also the small head could mean it is an onroad motor(S7)[:-]

RE: Is this RB Conept a RIP OFF?????

No the S5 and S7II Offroad come with that smaller head.

If he could pull the back plate and look at the crank that will tell what it is.[&:]

no bro the ding dongs and the mud blups dont line up on the fitzits ... you have to cut the honker and replace it with a pluglet ! i hope that helps ? lol dude video asap ok ! down the BMX track and the Five Dock Skate ramp, real soon ok !

This is a fresh out of the box RB WS7II and it has RB on the side. The other side it has World S7 II. It's never been touched other than to open it up to check for problems and then bolting it on. It hasn't had the first drop of fuel through it yet. The WS7II has a large cooler head that's shaved on the sides and a black crankcase with RB on the side. The regular S7II has the smaller cooler head that's the same color that isn't shaved same as yours. It also has an unpainted crankcase that has CS on the side like yours. If you can read a 7 on the cooler head my guess is it's a regular S7II and not the WS7II. Here's a link to look at the S7II I'm talking about. It's still suppose to be a great engine! If you scroll down on the sight it has a really good picture of the S7II cooler head. It has a machined angel on top like yours, where the Worlds S7 is more rolled over on top in my pic below. About the internal differences are between the regular S7 and the Worlds S7...I don't have a clue!

At any rate, I hope this helps to figure out which engine it is.

hey that is soooo cool!!!! [8D] now i can turn my s5 into an animal sorta motor!!!! :)

RE: Is this RB Conept a RIP OFF?????

Petropixie,

The posts you quoted say that the WS7II uses a CS crankcase. You can see from the pic I posted that it doesn't. The S7II and WS7II do use the same piston and sleeve. The big difference is in the crankshaft and crankcase.

Check out the link below. It's for the World S7 crankcase and it only will work for the WS7. It doesn't say what the difference is, but it does say WS7 ONLY.

http://acehardwarehobbies.com/2.2/ca...oducts_id=5856

Here's a link for the piston and sleeve that fits them both:

http://acehardwarehobbies.com/2.2/ca...oducts_id=5862

The problem you might run in to is port alignment. Both the S7 and the WS7 were internally designed by Rody Roem. The S5 is considered a Sport motor. They might not have set up it's ports the same as they did on the S7 motors. I'd check it out first cause it wouldn't be much fun finding out you just spent around $170 after shipping for something that doesn't work with your crankcase. You would have to spend that much if you wanted the rod and clips too. Here's the link for the whole set up.

Hope this helps!

RE: Is this RB Conept a RIP OFF?????

the piston & sleeve from an S7II would slip straight into an S5 as they share the same base casing;)
the WS7II casings main difference is its hard black coating & there's a tiny bit more "relieving" around the top of the rear bearing!
yes the crank of the WS7II is different to the crank of the S7II in that it is of the Biturbo design & has slightly different port timing as well as the RBCC coating which is supposed to prolong life!
the old WS7 was a brilliant engine & the S7II is about as close to that as you're going to get (albeit with a silver crankcase & a non RBCC coated crank)
the WS7II has different crank timing that only makes the engine harder to tune, less reliable, more pipe sensitive & unfortunately not as smooth in its power delivery[&o]
i used to only use RB engines a couple of years ago as they were definitely the best, but alas the finnicky WS7II has seen me move over to other brands including Novarossi, Top, Picco & even Omega! and as soon as it arrives even OS with a V-spec on the way;)

RE: Is this RB Conept a RIP OFF?????

so if i used the piston and sleeve from a s7II or a ws7II in the s5 they would both work the same? do you reckon that it would make the same sort of power as the s7II?

RE: Is this RB Conept a RIP OFF?????

i've not checked the part numbers for the 2 cranks to see if they're the same but putting a 7 port liner into an S5 should give the same performance as an S7II;)
we're all pretty sure the engine you got is an S7II anyway!
