RE: ultra lx comp
I was thinking of getting the Ultra LX Comp too but on OFNA's website, they don't have hop-up parts for it. Can the Comp use the Ultra LX Pro parts?

RE: ultra lx comp
i have the LX comp and it is a strong unit...all steel gears and very tough....i abuse the heck out of mine, but i have also paid the price...<G>.....the only "complaint" i have is that i have cracked TWO fuel tanks so far....not sure why, but i have...one tonight....the kicker? i installed it today...am going to have to re-engineer the mounting system i think, to incorporate some "flex" into it....

RE: ultra lx comp
dude i broke my fuel tank tooo lol... and my turnbukle and CVA bone... but i tink the car is well worth its money.......[:'(]

RE: ultra lx comp
hehe...i broke the turnbuckle on the steering rod....on a sunday....but luckily i was able to bring it in the basement and weld it....hehe..4mm turnbuckle and i welded it...but i'm still running it....you must have done something similar to what i did...i broke the lower front arm, front axle, bent the upper arm pivot pin, and broke the turnbuckle all at the same time...oh..and trashed the muffler too....<G>

RE: ultra lx comp
ORIGINAL: esmislb16 lol!!!! so far on my car i broke my gas tank, turnabuckle, CVA bone, and my whole gear popped out and me and my daddy poo fixed it lol...[X(] i have broken a front lower arm....a shock end, bent two *sets* of center dogbones(those concrete curbs are rough on those for some reason) TWO gas tanks, bent a few pivot pins on front suspension, wasted a front diff(check set screws on drive cup reguarly!!!!) the front cva, a steering rod(i welded it back together due to needing it NOW...LOL).....i recently added a two speed trans and absolutely love that it eliminates the center diff....i had a problem of it wanting to lift a front tire in a highspeed turn, and that just made that sucker spin fast and the buggy would lose speed...now the rears still push when the front raises... |
RE: ultra lx comp
What is the advantage of the 2 speed if it goes 50 outta the box, does it go even faster, and do you lose any low end? What would be the reasoning...and what does it cost to convert, also if you eliminate the center diff, whats good/bad about that???
Thanks, Newbie ME i have broken a front lower arm....a shock end, bent two *sets* of center dogbones(those concrete curbs are rough on those for some reason) TWO gas tanks, bent a few pivot pins on front suspension, wasted a front diff(check set screws on drive cup reguarly!!!!) the front cva, a steering rod(i welded it back together due to needing it NOW...LOL).....i recently added a two speed trans and absolutely love that it eliminates the center diff....i had a problem of it wanting to lift a front tire in a highspeed turn, and that just made that sucker spin fast and the buggy would lose speed...now the rears still push when the front raises... RE: ultra lx comp
the "advantage" to the two speed for me was quicker take off without losing top end speed....you get a bigger spur gear for 'first" gear, to get you moving faster, thenit changes to high gear for your all out speed runs....seems to be as fast if not faster than before,a nd quicker to that point...the cost was 85 bucks for the kit to convert my trans to two speed...it does indeed eliminate the center diff, and to me and the place/way i run my buggie it is beneficial because the buggie was prone to picking up one fron tire in the front during long sweeping turns and that caused all the power to go to that tirre...instead of playing around with diff oils i just did the two speed which "fixed" two problems i had....it was a win/win situation for me......

RE: ultra lx comp
I've had my lx comp 2 for a little over two weeks and the only thing I have broken is the turnbuckle in the upper arms.
