Lightning Stadium Pro Engine

Just got the LSP and the .26 hotbodies engine that comes with it is ok but lacks top end, so i went to put my spare Mach .26 engine in. Little problem though, it doesnt fit.... The backplate clashes with the chassis. I'm guessing that the engine has to sit this low on all buggies so the flywheel can be reached by the starter box and the LSP just uses a extended version of its buggy brother.

So am i correct in saying all buggy engines sit this low and im better of looking for a good .21 buggy engine instead of the monster big blocks im use too....

Might have to get a buggy soon, this thing handles like its on rails, im a impressed MT fan.....:D

Thanks for reading my new newbie type question....:)

RE: Lightning Stadium Pro Engine

I have the RR which is basically the same motor and I replaced it with a Wasp .28 and a Ofna 086 pipe. Everything bolted right in , same clutch and roto start backplate. It is still breaking in and is awesome!! I know what you mean about the handling, I love it!

So are you saying the backplate is hitting the chassis BEFORE it reaches the mounts? Like the mounts are too short?

If so I cant see how it would work and I would go with the same conclusion you already made up. The chassis is very similar to its buggy brother and i'm sure the mounts are the same - considering the fact that the Stadium RR and the Lightning 2 RTR have the same engine.

I guess if you really want more top end you can gear up - but that really depends on how much you love your low end ;). The Stadium's have impressive acceleration and i'm sure you could distribute that more evenly and towards the top end.

Overall if your going to look for a new engine, a buggy engine will fit. They are also obviously bump start compatible but its up to you if you want to go that route or not.

Thanks for the replies guys....;)

Yea thats it, the mach backplate hits the chassis before the engine mounts. The stock engine is good but there be a time when i will feel the need for more. The Mach can stay as my sparte for the LST but i dont want to buy a another engine for the LSP that doesnt fit. So was asking that due to it being a buggy chassis would I be safe buying any engine that i know fits into a buggy? and also as sjm said a wasp .28 or something thats known to fit into the LSP....;)
