moaning noise from gears.
 

Hello all, when i installed a new clutch bell after it had been stripped, i here a moaning noise when i roll the chassi. It's really loud too, it seems to be coming from the gear mesh, but the gear mesh is set fine acording to the paper test.

Ideas?

sometimes the paper way still makes the gear mesh too tight. try loosening the gear mesh a lil bit

Are the diffs lubed up?

I think I have the same situation, Got my diff oils in and new gears and everything, but when the diffs spin they kind of moan and whine..... But I have yet to find metal pieces in the diff oil so they arn't stripping.... It just doesn't have the quiet fluidity as my center diff.

I have to do a lot more than just roll the chassis to get a moan out of mine ... Lots of, um, body work usually does the trick :D Ah, sorry gotta go now ...
