What P5 Pipe
 

I am putting my first buggy together. It is a MP777 with a NovaRossi P5. What pipe would be best?

that engine is oversquare (long stroke=more torque), and my opinion is that you should select a pipe that enhances the engine's natural performance characteristics. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id=2201 here is a link to the JP-1 pipe that should be pretty tough, and perfectly accent the P-5, but i don't think it is race legal. otherwise, look for a pipe with the last two numbers of the EFRA number ending in 63. i know people are going to recommend installing a pipe that will give the P-5 more top end, but that is like wearing high heels to compensate for being short.

OK Thanks for the info. I take it a Ofna 063 would be good. I have to ask though, what makes the JP-1 illegal?

I have heard that it's up to the company itself to apply for approval and that the Jammin pipes aren't illegal, they are just not legal. Meaning that they haven't applied.

most every track around will let you run them and they are great. i run one but i use the 053 w/ the header off the JP1. what a sick combo. if you want the best for that motor then id do this or at least run the JP1. i talk to some pros and this is the combo they use and let me tell ya, i was leary of trying it and now im glad i did. it will scream! i have 2 P5's

I have ran the JP1, JP2 and 053 on my P5T, I like the JP2 way better I didnt loose any bottom end but I gained a ton more mid/high end. The JP1 and 053 would make my engine run out of power half way down the back straight. Not anymore with the JP2 :)

Try the Novarossi 9886- It is an AWESOME pipe for the P5.

I would go with the novarossi 9853 i have tested it and i luv it like it more than the 9886 on the P5

Correct, it's not illegal, it's just that Jammin haven't sent any pipes in to get EFRA approval so as such you can't run them at Efra sanctioned events. Almost all club tracks will let you run them as they are a lot quieter than most EFRA Approved pipes and do help engines run better greatly.

If Jammin wanted to increase sales then I strongly suggest geting the testing done as these pipes have NEVER let me down, unlike rossi, ofna ,picco, RB and Tamiyas. The reinforced stinger is the best idea ever and the hardcoating just looks super sweet, but they could do with a slightly shorter header that doesn't hit the shell.

good point chavy- the header is to long.
