Starter box
 

What is a very good starter box that is cheap? Lots of people recommend the Ofna chrome top which is $69 at tower ($98 with battery and charger) but I don't want to spend that much.

Sorry to say but You asked for VERY Good and Cheap(inexpensive)... Well Ofna is the only one that provides both. Other very good boxes like mugen and such will cost more.

Sorry again, but 1/8th scale is not cheap and quality is even less cheap. But in the long run the money spen on the box will be worth it.

Sportwerks makes some pretty good and cheap starter boxes. Check out the Horizonhobby web site.

The Thunder Tiger starter box isn't too expensive, but if you want to compromise on quality just to save 20 or 30$, then I wonder why you consider the Kanai and the X1. They will end up costing so much that a starter box is just a tiny bit of money in comparison.

don't chinch out on the starter box. get a nice one that won't let you down. it truly sucks when you get to the track, and your starter box is malfunctioning as a result of poor design, or cheap construction.

Ever consider a roto-start system? Its better than starter boxes for basher in my opinion.

or you could try ebay and see if you can find anything cheaper...

get the Ofna chrome top it is a verry good box

I have the chrome top one and have been happy with it. I have not used a starter box in a long time but out of the three I had, that one was my favorate.
