break-in question about mayhem

Hey guys, first off, I am brand spanking new to nitro cars. I just received my sportwerks mayhem and I have several questions about breaking it in correctly. First of all, I was letting it idle for a few minutes and all of a sudden the car takes off like a bat out of hell. What causes that? I'm a bit hesitant on starting it up again since I didn't think you were supposed to do any full throttle blasts. I did a search on here but couldn't find anything that may tell me why it went nuts on me. Also, how do I know what to set the idle at? If you guys have any other helpful hints, I would apprecitate it.

Thanks

RE: break-in question about mayhem

I have found on my Mayhem RTR that the high speed needle (long one sticking up) needed to be richened an extra half turn to run as rich as the manual recommends.

Try that and do it again. You will make mistakes with an engine sooner or later. Keep trying until you get it right.

Thanks for the tip, I will go try that. Would that have caused the car to take off like crazy?

Idle set too high? Or maybe someone has your frequency in your neighborhood?
