Toe IN Toe Out
 

Can someone explain what toe in and toe out does...i know what it is but how does it affect your buggy? I just got the hyper pbs and i noticed that one wheel has more toe out than the other... I looked in the book and it said something about 22mm of space between the turnbuckle ends...by the looks of it now if i would set it at 22mm it would toe out like crazy. Im not racing so do i even need to worry about toe in and toe out or could i just put them straight? Please explain the effects of toe in and out on both front and rear. Thanks!

try about 20mm each 1mm is about 1deg on each side

it just gives you better steering on the track (on power) just put them straight for bashing...

mine 1/8 buggy is front (toe-out), rear (toe-in) but cannot handle a good straightaway run
sometimes it turns left or right and needed corrections from time to time.

BTW, I dont race..just for bashing in front of my house....road is concrete.
some said, front should be toe -in, and some said just leave it normal (not toe in, nor toe out)
kinda confusing me???

Hi,

Front Toe in - more straight line ability and less steering response throughtout the corner.
Front Toe out - simply the opposite of Toe in.

For 4WD vehilcles, always adjust toe out -1 to -5 at most conditions. If steering response is too much, decrease toe angle. For tracks with many high speed sweepers, you might want to try 0 degrees.

Basicly toe angle adjust steering response and sensitivity.

For 4WD vehilcles you want a little Toe in just to make it a little more driveable, then if you lift off the steering it will settle straight. TOE OUT WILL NOT.

I thought for 1/8th scale you mostly want a little toe out due to the fact that it is 4 wheel drive, since the front wheels can pull the buggy. Toe in on 1/8th scale would lose quite a bit of steering. In 2wd you mostly want toe in, because the front wheels do not pull the buggy to keep it stabilized with toe out.
Then again, in Europe it does not seem like the tracks have a lot of 180 hairpins and such. So maybe toe in is more suited for grass and sweepers.

I've never seen toe-in on a race setup sheet. It's always toe out, but to various degrees.

Toe in toe out You do the hokey pokey and you turn your self around thats what its all about. The tittle was just too tempting.It is all up to your driving style.

Hi,

If anyone still get confused on this toe angle setting, check it easily within 10 minutes. 2 laps with 5 deg toe in and 2 laps with 5 deg toe out. The behaviour is significant. ;)

Again, there is nothing we call it right, you set to fit your driving style, track layout and conditions.
