ultra lx comp diffs question?
hello people i'm new to buggy world and i'm about to get a lx comp buggy, but i'm kinda worry about the diffs and some other plastic parts. do they hold up well, i'm not going to race it or nothing, i only bash, but not really hard. So can someone please tell me if the lx comp buggy is a weak buggy or is it holding up weel. thanks

RE: ultra lx comp diffs question?
Ive got the Lx Pro (older version of the comp, most of it is the same).
Its held up really good for me, nothing has broke (unless you count bodies). The front shock tower is weak, Ive bent it like 50 times LOL. Its no big deal though, you can just bend it back straight with some pliers or vicegrips. |
RE: ultra lx comp diffs question?
I have both the Pro and the Comp.
On the comp the diff's are better and the shock tower is more solid than the Pro's. But I haven't bent the shock tower on my pro yet. And the diff's are still in good shape. One of the front driveaxles has been a little bent and, because it was an european version, it had a plastic spur gear, which stripped. In general the Comp is a very strong buggy and can take some abuse. And you can get new parts cheap on ebay should anything break. |
RE: ultra lx comp diffs question?
thanks guys, how fast are they right out of the and how about when it on the track. what about the tuning issue of the engine. thanks

RE: ultra lx comp diffs question?
They are not fast "right out of the box" - no buggy are. The engine has to be breaked in properly before you can tune it for speed. After the tuning has been done, it's fast. And remember that on a track it has more to do with the drivers ability than the outright speed. BTW it is easy to change the gearing according to your wishes regarding topspeed and acceleration.
I haven't tried the engine that normally comes with the Comp, but there is a guy at my local track who has a similar engine and it is amazingly fast for a standard rtr-engine and it was not that difficult to tune. |
