mounting different body

Hello All! :D
I came over from the Giant Scale forum to ask a couple of quick questions about changing bodies on a Kyosho Inferno. I searched through several previous posts, but I could not find anything on how to convert from the buggy body to a rally car body. I want to keep everything else on the car (gearing, shocks etc.) the same. I know I need different wheels and tires-I've already got them.

Are there any people out there who have made a similar change? [sm=confused.gif]

Could you relate to me how you mounted taller body posts, what you chose to use, and any pitfalls I might avoid?

Thanks!

What?
You don't like the guys from the Giant Scale forum? We're not bad guys...ours are just bigger than yours, that's all. :D

Some people think that we are just over compensating for something.

My wife says it is not true...at least when I ask her. [sm=tired.gif]

I'd like to thank all of you for your help. [sm=pirate.gif]
As it turns out, I went to three hobby shops and found out that most people who change their buggies to truggies, which means changing the body style (among other things), use a special body post to mount the new body. It is designed to mount directly to the shock tower and it has a collar that the body sets down on to protect the paint job.
Thanks again for your ideas and comments. You're all wonderfully helpful people. [sm=tired.gif]

Well, that's what I get for asking questions in the kids' forum. [sm=lol.gif] When you grow up and get a job, try the Giant Scale forum...most of us are really interested in participating and helping each other out. [sm=biggrin.gif]

I don't think lack of interest to help out is the issue here. I guess most people here run/race buggies here and simply do not know the answer to your question. Maybe you can try the General Car forum next time.

Thank you, SManMTB, for your kind response. [8D] You may be right, but the fact is that the only way I got a response from anyone was after I made sarcastic remarks. I think that plenty of people read the post and I feel sure that there were at least a few ideas out there, but I got no help.

Adios! :D
