MBX-4
I have seen these win a couple of club races here against MBX 5's and Kanai's. Smooth track not many jumps. ANyone have an opinion on these. Im not going to get one but I thought it was cool that an older car cranked by some other cars which were much more up to race spec. I run a 777 Sp1, which I like very much. ANyone still run one of these? |
RE: MBX-4
I used to have the Super Athlete!!! That was the model before the MBX4. All cars can be competitive, you just need to be able to tune your ride and drive it like you stole it ;). I was competitive with mine until I coudn't get parts for it anymore but I am still very happy with my current ride..

RE: MBX-4
ya they are hard to get parts for so it wouldnt be very wise to get one. you could buy one off of ebay or here and use it for parts cause they go cheap...

RE: MBX-4
I had a few MBX4's - from the standard, RR, and XR.
They dont seem to soak up the whoops as well as an MBX5 - that was the first thing I noticed....the MBX5 just flattens out whoops full throttle w/o bucking....where as the 4's were upsidedown. I disagree about parts avail - there are usually a lot on eBay.... |
RE: MBX-4
I agree with that, but there were tuning options and set up to get them more composed. IN practice a guy with a regular one first gen MBX 4 with a Kyosho center diff and carbon parts etc... took Vegas set up-tried it and he was flying- and this is an old buggy. Keeping right up with the prospecs. It looked pretty neat. Like someone else said if the track is long few bumps they can still hold their own.
