Changing Piston

So I finally got my piston and sleeve in, I was not told to buy Pinston Pin Retainers..... Does anyone know how to get these out and if I could reuse them? I do not want to have to order them and wait 2 weeks again.

Thx,

They are a pain to remove but every time I do a rebuild I install new ones. If you try to take them out use tweasers.

Ya man I wish I would have known that they did not come with the connector arm. Lesson learned.

I use a wooden tooth pick and a sheet of white paer to remove them. The tooth pick to prise it and the white paer to see where I sat it down to.

A very small pair of needle nose pliers is the best way to get them out so they don't fly out and get lost... there very very easy to lose. Theres no point in using brand new ones unless you bend up or lose the clip thats in there now because all they do is hold the wrist pin in place. I personally never used new ones even after resleving a motor 3 times. By the end of the 3rd sleve the crank bearings were finished too.
