Please help: newbie question re drill for starter

Hi. I am a newbie to rc nitro. I have a Mayhem and the motor is equiped with the adapter for the handheld starter. I don't have a 7.2 to power it, but I do have a cordless drill. The shaft fits fine, but I am concerned that the RPMs on the drill is too low - the specs on my drill say max speed is 650 RPM. Does anyone know how fast the handheld unit turn and it my drill will be ablr to spin it fast enough?

Any help is appreciated.

Allan

I am fairly certain that your drill will do the job.

My cordless drill will out-speed the handheld starter even on the low speed setting. If anything, it may be too fast. Though, I dont know that too fast would hurt...

don't do it.

i learned the hard way, and had to replace the backplate, and the one way bearing.

total cost for being an idiot using a cordless drill:

30 dollars.[:'(]
