Violator help needed
Ordered CNC knuckles to replace the stock ones on my Violator. Having trouble with the install. Seems that the CNC version is a little different. The holes for where the upper and lower arms screw in, are centered on the CNC version where on the original knuckles the holes are off center. The problem is that when I try to screw in the arms to the knuckles the screws end up going through the knuckle holes and hit the CVA joint. Anybody else have this problem? What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help!

RE: Violator help needed
You might want to put a shim/washer in there before you screw it in. Is it just barely touching the CVD? I think those screws are 4x10 like on my 9.5.

RE: Violator help needed
the screws I was using are 4x16 mm. I guess I should try shortere screws or a shim, just didn't know if I was doing something else wrong. Thanks

RE: Violator help needed
Yeah good idea try a shorter screw and see how it is.

RE: Violator help needed
Make sure that screw goes most, if not all the way through the knuckle though. Don't cut it too short

On Nitrohouse's site, there is a message saying you need to order the shim kit when you order those knuckles (message in red):

RE: Violator help needed
Guess what folks? I have figured out the problem. OFNA has misprinted their manual for the Violator. The part number that they have printed in the manual for the CNC knuckle hop-up is the wrong part number. The WRONG # they have listed in the manual is 36516. The correct # for the part is 34001. If you go by the manual and order 36516, you will have a heck of a time trying to figure out what is wrong when you try to install them, like me. [>:] Then you will have to send the part back and order the correct ones, thus incurring multiple shipping charges and a lot of time wasted, not to mention the frustration. When I spoke to a tech. at OFNA he simply stated yeah, the manual is wrong, sorry. I said, "well, now I have to ship back the wrong part and re-order the correct parts."
Again the tech. replied, "I'm sorry". What a waste! |
