has anypne use the badlands tire on a race buggy ?
I used to use them for practicing, what a waste of time that was, they are useless on a half decent race surface, its like driving on ice. Id only use them if the track was sand, not a bit sandy, sand like a beach.

I've used the badlands on one of the tracks out here by St. Louis. That track has really loose dirt and they hooked up really well there.

nice. i would think they might work well. the track is hard on the bottoem but has alot of loose dirt, with mixed in sand when dry. a

are offset hubs good ?

is a thinner tire better on a buggy ? or is wider always better ?

I've used the badlands on dry clay and they aren't any good there, just like ice. Use them if you like to see the dirt fly. They work best on really muddy days, I mean really muddy, like 3 inches of water muddy. I have some GRP Cubic truggy tires and they are awesome on the clay, just a bit damp. They are similar pattern to crimefighters but seem like they wil last forever. I think I will stick with GRP for now, no complaints, came pre-glued too:D

RE: Official Hyper 8 Thread

Hi Guys, i wanna fit some big bore shocks to my Hyper 8. Are the new 8.5 big bores better than Jammin big bores and do i need to fit longer top mounts for the Jammin. I am thinking Jammin at this stage, they appear a bit cheaper and the stock 8.5 rear springs seem a bit strong for my liking. And why does Robert Batle run a hyper 7 tank in his hyper 8? Any help would be appreciated.

The new hong nor/jammin 16mm bb's are ready and should be stores in a matter of weeks if not less, go with those.

And being as www.ultrahobbies.com.au has a very close relationship with hong nor, they should have em very soon im guessing.

I got the older Hong Nor (Jammin) big bore shocks on mine. Yes I had to change the top shock mounts.

What, who and where did you get the top shock mounts? I've been searching around and can not seam to find what I am looking for. Right now I have been cheating with a screw and washer but there is too much slop.

RE: Official Hyper 8 Thread

If you are going to spend around $400 get the Hyper 8.5 pro!

is the x1 cr any good.

RE: Official Hyper 8 Thread

I do not have one but comparison to the Hyper 8.5 it is much older design. I think they are coming out with a new model shortly because of the age. I have some race buddies that have them and they seem pretty good.

Hows it handle.
I was looking at the 8ight but i was told it handles different than most buggies.
Im new at these buggys and i want somthing thats easy on me.

RE: Official Hyper 8 Thread

I have been running my 8 for over a year now and it has held up VERY well. I now have over 9 gallons of run time with very little breakage. No it is not like the 8ight and is a more traditional handling buggy.

Hey 46u do you know if there is a One Piece Engine Mount for the Hyper 8 that fits?

46u 09-10-2007 09:56 PM

RE: Official Hyper 8 Thread

Sorry sure do not and my I ask why you want one? I run the King Headz extended EZ change engine mount.

zJatoRad 09-10-2007 11:37 PM

RE: Official Hyper 8 Thread

just personal preference but I think the original Hyper 8 engine mounts are too short. I'll look into the King Headz mounts.

I have put the CNC Aluminum One-Piece Engine Mount from the - Jammin X1CR in my Hyper 8 fits good & looks more stronger.
Just needed to widen out the screw holes in bottom of the chassis a we bit.

rocket i have both and i just put the losi 8 on the shelf. my driving style is a lot more cosistent with the
hyper 8. i like the losi but it is starting to have a lot of issues. i just seem to drive better with the hyper.
thinking about getting the 8.5 but allready have the st pro on the way. have to wait until the wife is not
looking!:D

This is why on the 8.5 they went with longer mounts but I still think the King Headz are better.
