Temperature Gun

Hi all,
I am looking for a good temperature gun but they all seem to have the EMISSIVITY FIXED at 0.95 ? is this the right value for aur glow engines ? Should i get one with the emissivity adjustable, what would be the correct value ?? thanks in advance.

Why don't you just get the venom temp. Isen't it more accurate?

The $25 Duratrax has adjustable emissivity settings. It's an OK value, not perfect. It all depends on the material the surface is made of. Anodized, not anodized and even the color of the anodizing will change the emissivity of the material.

But We were supposed to measure the temperature at the glow plug, right ? i mean aiming the Head Button ?

Yes but you will measure over a larger area than just the glow plug.
At 1" distance you will measure a circle of 1" in diameter using the Duratrax sensor.
