EDIT// Hyper 8

Hey everyone.. I'm going to be purchasing a Hyper 7 TQ Sport kit.. and just wanted to know the basics of it? Is it any good to race with, or bash some what..? How long would you expect to have tro be built? I've torn down my LST twice.. once when I was Installing a Carbon fiber chasis, and it didn't take too long, and the other time, when.. I just felt like it... It needed a cleaning. It only took about half a days work for each.. but back on topic.. What servos would you guys reccomend? And a good starter engine? Would I need a Starter box.. or what? Thanks in advance.

RE: Hyper7 TQ Sport Kit

The TQ is an excellent basher and a competant racer. Mine took ages to build but I didn't have a lot of time. I imagine you could build it well in a weekend or a day if your above average technically. Be sure you have all bits you need such as diff oils, threadlock and fuel filters. One of the best starter engines is the OS RG or the TT 21 pro. both are available as pull start or non pull start. Obviously if you get the non-pull start you will need a starter box. There are a few other issues depending on whether you go pull start or not. Steering servos are expensive for good ones and people are divided on the cheaper ones with the right specs. You won't go wrong with one of the sanwa (airtronics) top line servos.
Hope this helps and ask if you need more info.

RE: Hyper7 TQ Sport Kit

I have recieve my TQ sport yesterday, and it's a exellent buggy. But it's sold to be a kit, and when i've open the box, the buggy was 80% built[X(] just need to build the shock, put the servo and linkage and put the engine (i,ve bought an O.S. .21 RG).

My friend have the Hyper 7 pro and the only differences is the center differential, aluminium cnc front and rear stifner brace and graphite goodies.

great buggy, and surprisingly, i've recieve it with neon green spoiler and wheel.

haha thats great wat a nice surprise. i was also thinking about buying one of these because i just want to "dabble" in scale racing.

also it would be great if maybe you could do performance difference between the hyper 7 sport and your friends. since we all know that looks dont win the races, although graphite/carbon fiber is trick to say the least.

Thanks for the advice guys... whats a good steering servo for it? I was thinking of sticking an OS .21 RG into it... I know it's a kit.. hehe. It'll be my SUMMER project, as I Wont have ALL The money at one time. First kit, then engine, then electronics.. ya see. Ill be usin a JR XS3.. :D

And.. seriously? 80% built? Hmm I didn't know that... I thought they came in pieces.. Just outta curiosity, where'd you get yours from?

RE: Hyper7 TQ Sport Kit

that depends on the driver though. you put a shocking driver in a brilliant car, and a brilliant driver in a shocking car, the results speak for themselves. same as rcing.

RE: Hyper7 TQ Sport Kit

Yes, 80% built in the box:) I would want to know if other guys here have recieve the TQ sport 80% prebuilt.

And for the steering servo, i've put an Hitec 5645MG digital and for the trottle an Hitech 645MG.

If you're looking to spend as little as possible, and still get a good motor, get an O.S. RG

There's better motors out there, but not at the RG's price.

RE: Hyper7 TQ Sport Kit

Hmm... I'm just going to go with a Hyper 8 Pro kit.. It's 329.99 at RcMart. Which is a good price IMO for a race buggy. I figure Ill throw a Sportwerks .21 or a HYper .21 8 port in it. :)
