RE: mach .28 problems
Do you know what pipe it is?

RE: mach .28 problems
Well, not knowing the engine temp kind of puts us in more of a blind situation than you are in. The exhaust at the manifold will usually run a bit hotter than the engine does. You're probably running the engine way too hot and self destruction is likely to be not far behind. The first thing that you need to do is to get a temp gun and learn how to use it, and then get back to us.

RE: mach .28 problems
Temp was up to 290 with less than a half a tank of fuel run.The pipe is the one that comes on the hyper 7 pbs rtr.It says hyper on it.

RE: mach .28 problems
hi! I run a mach 28 in my buggy and i have the same problem with the exhuast running extremely hot! It has melted my stone gaurds, body and tank. I use a temp gun and my engine is running at 250 + or - a couple of degrees. I talk to someone at the track that was running the same engine and he said his exhuast runs extremely hot aswell. I am using a nosram inline exhaust, but will be trying the hyper 8 exhuast to see if that makes a difference at my next meet. will let you know how it went if i remember!

RE: mach .28 problems
Car ran alot better today and the temp was down a bit with a change in fuel.Went from Traxxas 10% to Red Alert 20%.This helped the performance of the car a great deal but the exhaust was melting the rear tie strap off of the silicone coupling from the header to the pipe during a run of a tank of fuel. Can anyone recommend a different brand or type exhaust system that's proven so I don't spend tons of money on trial and error trying to find an exhaust that runs cooler?
Thanks Leon T. |
RE: mach .28 problems
yikes, keep that traxxas fuel away for good
|
RE: mach .28 problems
Is the Traxxas fuel bad for any rc engine?

RE: mach .28 problems
I tried the hyper 8 pipe and even though the engine ran great the pipe still ran extremely hot and melted the body on my car even more. not sure what to do except put my 21 pro motor back in. any advice on getting exhaust temps down would be great!

RE: mach .28 problems
Finally gave up and ditched the motors.I installed one Dynamite Mach 26 and One Dynamite Mach 28 on the 2 hyper 7s.Now we can enjoy the buggies. No more temp problems. Also,I called OFNA and they said to ship the 2 Mach 28s back to them.I will post when we find out what Ofna will do about it.
