HYPER 8
Hi guys....In my hobby shop here they sell Hyper 8 RTR. But the problem is they dont have parts. They told me if any part breaks, the Hyper 7 parts will fit...I dont how true is tht and i dont want to take risk
They do sell Hyper 7 PBS RTR here and with parts as well...Is it any gud for bashing and jumps. I know Hyper 7 is kinda old. But the reviews about it is good. So should I buy the Hyper 7 or Hyper 8 considering the parts in mind? |
RE: HYPER 8
Hyper 7 parts will NOT fit. Get the Hyper 8 anyway... get your parts from Ebay.:D
|
RE: HYPER 8
buy a mugen, parts DONT break :D
|
RE: HYPER 8
We dont get Mugen here. I am talking about either buying a Hyper 7 PBS RTR or Hyper 8 RTR.
We have a Hyper 8 RTR here but there are no parts at all so that is why I ain't planning to buy it and I cant afford it buying online. So that is why I wanted to buy a Hyper 7 PBS RTR because there are parts available. So I just wanted to know is the Hyper 7 PBS RTR strong enough for small jumps and bashing. And is the stock engine fast and reliable? Regards, Joy |
RE: HYPER 8
IF all you are going to do is bash. then get the hyper7. its very cheap to rebuild and parts everywhere. and yes can handle huge jumps. i used to go to BMX track with one. oh those where the days :D
|
RE: HYPER 8
How is the stock engine which is .21 Hyper Port 8 i guess? Is it fast and reliable?
|
RE: HYPER 8
ORIGINAL: Hincappe buy a mugen, parts DONT break :D I find that statement hilerious. Avoid RTR full stop mate. You get a buggy equiped with a outdated motor, crap servos and a $25 AM Radio. OFNA love dropping other crap into them to lower the price, like inferior shocks, plastic instead of carbon fibre/alloy ect.. Hobao 8 Ports are good club level motors, they rev a bit high and drink more fuel than similair spec motors but they have some poke. Won't compete with Vspecs and other race motors though. |

RE: HYPER 8
The hyper PBS will be fine (you could even get a hyper 7 TQ or TQ pro if available) The 8 port engine is better than your standard RTR engine, and is quite fast though I think the radio set isn't up to much. A kit is a better idea but if you get a RTR just ensure all screws are threadlocked and make a few upgrades before you start. I don't know if the PBS has CNC chassis braces but if it doesn't then get them. Also get a strong steering servo along with a 6V receiver pack. I regularly do jumps of 7ft plus and break little (you will always break something whatever buggy you buy) the parts are cheap and there are plenty available on ebay at cheaper than hobby store prices. If you are buying parts off ebay (which I recommend) then the hyper 8 is just as feasible and is a better buggy, but you won't see the benefit if you just bash.

RE: HYPER 8
im wondering whether to buy a new HoBao Hyper 8 rtr , r they any good?
|
RE: HYPER 8
Get the Hyper 8 pro much better buggy. I have well over 2 gallons of run time on it and have not broken anything yet.
I hate and do not go RTR as with a kit you end up with a much better buggy and cheaper in the long run. |
RE: HYPER 8
H7 very few parts interchange, H8 Pro All the way, [:@]
|
RE: HYPER 8
how much is the Hyper 8 pro? i kind of have a limited amount of money - about £300 - and do you have any idea how fast a Hyper 8 rtr goes
Thanks Kemp2906 |
RE: HYPER 8
Welcome to the forum the Hyper 8 RTR will plenty fast enough. I am guessing your are new to the hobby and fairly young.
Good Luck. |
RE: HYPER 8
well nitro yes, i did buy a traxxas s-maxx in the june but it just got stolen, its either the t-maxx 3.3 of the HoBao Hyper 8, any ideas, im not going to do any racing just bashing. my friends has a jato and i would like to beat him for top speed, and the hyper 8 has got a big engine
|
RE: HYPER 8
Is there anything you could suggest under £300 - ~ $570
|
RE: HYPER 8
At £300 the hyper 8 RTR is about the best you can get unless you wnat to risk getting one sent from abroad. You might get stung import taxes on it though
|
RE: HYPER 8
the Hyper 8 will be 1,000 times tougher than the T-maxx 3.3...not to mention far quicker.
|
RE: HYPER 8
how fast though?
|
RE: HYPER 8
I can tell when a young person is talking as all they want to know is how fast. At least 300 mph or more! :D
Sale MPH! ;) |
RE: HYPER 8
i know but doesnt any kid? i may be a kid but im not that stupid, do you have any idea how fast it goes? would it contend witha traxxas jato?
|
RE: HYPER 8
It'll do about 40mph tops. This can be alterd by gearing or buying a new motor. I dont know what a jato does but if i'm correct they're pretty fast because they're 2 speed and smaller scale. A jato however is 2 wheel drive and a buggy is 4WD, therefore a jato wouldn't stand a chance off road against a hyper 8. Also the hyper 8 will spend much less time in bits as its tough as nails.
If speed is all your looking for have a look at the Schumacher Menace. My money would be hyper 8 all the way though. |
RE: HYPER 8
jatos go 55, and yes my friend did break his rear shock tower on his first jump on my ramp, im heading towards the t-maxx 3.3 because i can customize them more.
Thanks anyway |
RE: HYPER 8
OK if your looking at trucks look at the monster GT/MTA4 as well. Go look on the RCU MT forum and people say very good things about them. They're cheap too.
Thats the truck i would buy |
RE: HYPER 8
thanks jonnymac, does anyone own a HoBao hyper 8 or a t-maxx 3.3 and have any reviews about them?, thanks
