The only way I know to try and keep up with Rodslinger track since they shout down the message board is to go to the Regional Racer and Basher thread on this site and look under Middle Georgians wanted.
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_26...page_34/tm.htm

We have a track here in Macon not quite as nice as Rodslinger but we race just about every weekend. Here is the message board for the Macon track and there is much about in the link I posted above.

Have any other question let me know and I will try to answer them.

Looks awesome, very technical but still manages to have a wide track nice. How badly did the dirt chop up?

Here some pics of my track, we have only ran on it twice since it was built. It still has some ruff spots in it that need some attention, but it is a pretty good layout I think.

The biggest problem with this track is the only property we had to use was on a side of hill, but hey if youi like elevation change we have it :) .

If any one close to Oxford MS. needs a place to race we would be glad to have you.

RE: Track pics!!!!

How long and wide are the tracks? I have the chance to make one myself close to where i live but im not shure how long to make the straight. I dont want to make the track to big or to small. Ive got it marked out at 125 by 76 ft with the laines 8 foot wide. I can go 60 ft longer if i need to but i do have 2 poles in the way. But of what ive seen most tracks seem to be lots bigger and have way to many turns in them.

RE: Track pics!!!!

4 metres.. or 12 feet wide.and ours is 30m by 20, or, 100 foot by 70 ish. so yours will be plenty big enough. What do you mean way too meany turns? not flowing enough for you? build it how you want :P

:D How about something like this. well i thought it was clear'er than this.

RE: Track pics!!!!

Yeah but that plan had serious issues, no track should ever have 2 choices in which to go, ever.

RE: Track pics!!!!

Why not have 2 choices.. They do in in Motorcross, supercross, arenacross.

RE: Track pics!!!!

Our track is 225ft X 195ft. Lanes are 14ft wide and consist of two 225ft straights, one 195ft speed banked curve and on one 150ft medium curve. Internal technical course consist of 2 chicanes, one double jump, one triple and vibration pads on one section for about 12ft long (see purple and yellow lines on the picture). Surface varies from hard packed clay and loose dirt. Some sections are smooth as butter but others are cracked and rutted as hell.

It's a very nice mix of everything, speed, technique and suspension tuning. Everyone that came to try it was amazed how trying and yet pleasant it is to race on this track. Next year we plan to add another banked turn, one table top jump to replace the triple and change the vibration pads with two by fours placed at an angle.

We have a 12 driver stand that is 6.5ft high and a folding starting grid for 6 cars launches.

It's a pretty unique track in our neck of the woods, there's not many other tracks in a 250Km radius. Here, most people bash in pits because the don't want to pay and build a nice track then yet, they invest thousands of dollars in monster trucks. LOL !!!

We charge 150$ for a full year membership. Every penny goes to the track to always improve the facilities.

RE: Track pics!!!!

When you say $150 membership is that include racing fees or the racing fees are extra. The reason I ask is we are struggling to keep our local track open and I am looking for options. If it closes I will more then likely get out of the hobby for the most part as I do not care for bashing.

46u 10-02-2006 09:20 PM

RE: Track pics!!!!

If I am not mistaken for it to conform to Pro Series regulations the lanes have to be at least 10 foot wide.

dannthenitroman 10-02-2006 09:36 PM

RE: Track pics!!!!

4 metres as far as i know is ROAR which has to be similar to the pro series rules right?

Dann

46u 10-02-2006 10:43 PM

RE: Track pics!!!!

You could be correct and since they have changed the site for the Pro Series I cannot seem to find the information. I do know of a track that sponsor one of the races here in the south and there are plenty of places it is nowhere near 13 plus feet which is around 4 meters.

dannthenitroman 10-02-2006 11:23 PM

RE: Track pics!!!!

In australia the rules are hard to find and iffy, so we basically all go by ROAR similar to our governing bodies rules (AARCMCC, australian association for radio controled model car clubs) but yeah 13 feet wide sounds right.

46u

Our 150$/season membership includes all races and that's 150$ CDN... With the 27 members, we still managed to build and maintain the track all summer and bought a MGT for the season end party draw. We still have money to throw in small gifts at the party.

Mind you, we are only a small club, maybe you are holding bigger events and this is why you have $ problems in the end. You need to find a way to keep the track dude, don't leave the hobby...[sm=cry_smile.gif]

Montrealer--what did you use for those rumble strips and that one jump in the foreground? It looks
like a large pipe or...? I can get used plastic drums and pails from work (we distill Crown Royal-just a product placement plug:D)
I think drums cut in half would make nice sized jumps. I know this is a post your track pics thread, I'll do that when its photo worthy!
