MBX brake problem
Sup all. New to the buggy world and I must say, I am angry at myself it took so long. I got an Ultra MBX on a whim and the buggy bug has bitten me (just when everyone else is going truggy, oh well). Here is my dilemma. In getting used to the truck (running a Picco 28), after about 5 minutes or so of blasting up and down the street, I noticed brake fade. I pull the truck in and notice that the brake pads are gone...both front and rear![X(] Has this happened to anyone else? The brake pads were the beige ones (fiber I believe) and I must say I have never seen this in all my years of R/C. The screws that hold them in place were (are) still in place and I must say it was a shock to see both pads GONE. Anybody have any suggestions.......

RE: MBX brake problem
They will rip out of the screws so they need to be glued onto the metal part of the pad with something pretty heavy. That MBX is an RTR so maybe ofna screwed up.

RE: MBX brake problem
Actually, I bought the Ultra MBX r2 (80%) complete, but the brakes were already set. Installed my engine and did the linkages and added servos. Any other brake pads I can use??

RE: MBX brake problem
I am running the Picco .28 with the standard head. On the Savage, I was using a Hot bodies dual chambered pipe with the hot rod extended stinger. I got away from the old school 5 tanks and did the break in in 3. One of the threads in this forum said "dont baby it and run the thing" which is what I did. After the 2 tank, I treated the third like the old school fifth tank...running in short bursts. By the fourth tank, leaned it a little and never look back. In the buggy, I am running the stock .26 pipe that came with the buggy, nothing spectacular, but I didnt have to touch the needles. I am getting a Jammin JP3, because I want a more top end. I am using O'Donnell 30% with OFNA aluminum clutch shoes with the black springs. Engine has not broke 240 degrees. Make sure to mark bottom dead center and use after run and....GO FASTER!
As far as HPI fiberglass, are you making reference to the pad for the hellfire? |
