OFNA Help
I know there are a ton of threads about which buggy. Although, I can't find much on the Hyper 7 PBS. I'm looking at the OFNA Hyper 7 PBS and the Ravager. I was wondering which one is better of the two? Also, my LHS doesn't carry OFNA, the shop is all Traxxas, so i'll have to do online. Are parts available for both? Plus, you can throw in you suggestions for other buggies in the same price range. I'll be doing both bashing and racing. I like the PBS b/c it looks stronger for bashing. Thanks.

RE: OFNA Help
The PBS is better. Its very tough and theres lots off parts available online. I use ebay but plenty of shops stock it too.
Also look at the hyper 8. Its very tough, excellent for racing and very good value. Get the pro version if you can afford it |
RE: OFNA Help
Well i was originally looking at the pbs but then i thought why dont i spend that little bit extra on the hyper 8 pro, so that i know i have a uptodate buggy and spares are good. But out of the 2 i would say the pbs or even the hyper 8 really you will get what you pay for everyone will agree its a awsome buggy. Hope that helps

RE: OFNA Help
What about a Hyper 7 TQ RTR? Working on a budget. Nitrohouse.com has it for 299.00, but towerhobbies has the PBS for 394.00 with 30 bucks off.

RE: OFNA Help
Yea there both good buggies all of hobao's buggies are a good standard but it just depends on your thoughts and the size of your pocket!!! lol

RE: OFNA Help
I Like the TQ a lot, though buy the kit if you get the choice as most hobao electrics in the RTRs isn't so good, and its always recommended to strip down and rebeuild RTRs anyway as the build quality in (all RTRs not just hobao's) is dubious.
The Buggies however are very tough and have a wide range of hop-ups available. The PBS is slightly tougher whilst the TQ steers better in my opinion. If your buying the RTRs (which I assume you will) the PBS comes with the hyper 8 port engine and the TQ comes with the hyper 4 port or the mach .28. If you want the best of both worlds get the TQ kit, then go buy CNC hyper 8 knuckles, CNC chassis braces and a hyper 8 port all cheap off ebay. You will then have a Super tough cheap and fast buggy for not a lot of moolah. |
RE: OFNA Help
I like the ravager, because of its .28 engine and it's four disk brakes, but overall the Hyper7 would probably come out on top.

RE: OFNA Help
I have the Ravager and it is a great buggy. It'll take a beating and keep going. I'm not sure about the Hyper 7 but i think it would be the better racer.
