JR 9000 series are by far the best. I have had previous JRs and Airtronic/Sanwas, and they just do not compare. I have heard good things about ACE especially for price. But money is in the 9000 series

Depends really on your driving style, Am using the Hitec 5955 digitals, 333oz of torque, it puts the steering where it's supposed to be even through the roughest sections. My hitec 5945 just gave up today on me, using it for throttle.
