Clutch Q's on sts engine
hey guys , i just finished installing my clutch on my new sts .21e, I have 2 questions, is it right for the clutch bell to spin freely with the flywheel not moving? and also, I broke one of my springs when i was installing the shoes so i am using a 2 normal springs and 1 stiff spring setup? is that alright? Its the Ofna blue alumiunium shoes.
Also i accidently turned the engine over about 3 times when installing the clutch, has this done any damage to the engine? as it hasnt been broken in? cheers |

RE: Clutch Q's on sts engine
Hi
The clutch bell is supposed to spin freely.. the whole assembly locks up when the centrifugal force asserted on the clutch shoes is strong enough... And A lot of racers mix up clutch springs to give a different sort of Take up... it will work fine but feel a bit 'different' on pull away.. And I don't know how you ,managed to turn it over if its new... blimey my STS would seize solid if i tried.. But it should be ok... i doubt it would have scored the bore up or anything... |
