?'s about my hyper 7
i have been running my hyper 7 on 30% (i used ot run 20% until i started racing) but when i drive it around, it starts to idle really high, and i cant slow it down. should i turn the idle screw down or something? it sounds lik eits running hot and acts like it, but it is only running at around 250. there also seems to be very little compression in the engine, but it still runs ok except for the idling really high.
I was also wondering what shocks would work best for it? i still havnt replaced my rear shock. what shocks should i use. i got some 35 wieght and 50 weight shock oil. and one other thing, i CANT FIND A GASKET FOR THE EXHAUST. its the mach 28 engine. my gasket is all ripped and starting to shred around the edge. What gasket can i use? thanks |
RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
maybe your servo isnt centered... or the servo horn is on wrong... maybe you adjusted the servo centering
|
RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
? no dude, the servo is fine. i havnt messed with servo. i mean, when i first start it up, it idles like it should but after running it fro a while it starts to idle really high. i dont know why. but im pretty sure it isnt the servo.

RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
its either to rich or to lean on the bottum.

RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
i have the same motor on my hyper8 i tried 30% and my motor did not like it at all i had to switch back to 20% i guess i need a shim i was getting a little detonation
also u can find exhaust manifolds online or at your local lhs most gaskits will work |
RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
i have a pair of .21 rear exhaust gaskets. but they seemed loose on it. so i didnt know. anyway, does it matter of what size it says? thanks for ur help.
|
RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
well u dont want it loose as it will cause airleaks. also if its torn u get the same problem . if u have any leaks it will be a tuning nightmare!
check a-main or anywhere for gaskits that normally fit 21-28 motors . and if you find some suitable for your car buy a few of them.i only get about 2 days of racing out a gaskit b4 i need to replace it |
RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
yea, i need to do somethin. wich ones would u recommend for the mach 28? im going to try to race it tommorow, and if it dont do to good im going to break out the jammin truggy. i baught some gaskets from the race track place and they wer to small i think. it was kinda loose on it. anyway, wich ones would work do u think?

RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
i ran my hyper 7 again today, and there is hardly no compression in the engine. and the breaks dont work...im not sure but i dont think its tuned right. anyway.....does anyone know why there isnt any compression left? the engine is not even that old..and it was broke in properly. i do run 30% through it. (mach 28)
|
RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
if your compression is gone u have BLOWN it up probly too hott!
|
RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
i dunno, its all junked up. i need to buy a new engine. cant decide though

RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
Turn the LSN out half a turn.(richen)
It should keep the revs down.I think you are lean on the bottom end. If it's not dieing when idling then the engine is fine.It might have low compression but that doesn't mean it's not good. I have two hyper 4 port engines with barely any compression but do work fine. |
RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
If you have any exhaust leaks the engine will not run right u must fix the leaks first then tune,u can get the parts at towerhobbies.
I have a mach 28 and it runs good at 320 degrees without any problems. Also clean and oil the air filter every 5 to 10 tanks of fuel |
RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
i was having that problem, i adjusted the lsn and the idle, now it runs. i dont like the macstar engine, i want to get a new one.
|
RE: ?'s about my hyper 7
Fattening the bottom up will get rid of the problem whilst idling when warm, but I suspect there is another air leak that only open when hot or your high end is too lean and the mill is reving high at idle till the low end lets in enough fuel to slow the idle. This would mean the the HSN is too lean and the LSN is too rich.
