extentions

are hub extentions worth the time/money? do they have any advantages/disadvantages? improve handling?
thanks!

RE: extentions

depends on what track your on, if you widen the car it will handle better at high speeds and open tracks but it will suffer on tight tracks, it will increase your turning circle which I consider a bad thing for tight tracks. I'm only a small time racer so Its pretty friendly where I am, but I would think there would also be limitations on the dimensions of your car so that it meets the class your in, it may be "illegal" to run it wider than a determined limit.

The extensions also increase the leverage on your suspension and steering components. If you wipe out, you could break things that you might not otherwise have broken. You could just try some half offset wheels.

RE: extentions

The advantage: It's more stable. Other than that, all you are doing is putting more strain on the drivetrain, mainly the wheel bearings and CVD's.
Though it's more stable, you lose steering reaction, and won't be able to throw car into the corners as fast
