Okay, well maybe it is. I have been racing an Ofna Jammin X1-CR FTE for the last two seasons and am looking to change buggies. I have my eye on the Mugen MBX5R and the XRay XB8EC. I know they are both good buggies, and am looking for a tie breaker. What are your thoughts?

The X-ray XB8EC. Just cos it looks nicer and is a newer design
To be honest there is not much seperating them, and you won't go wrong with either. I just prefer the X-ray buggies

One thing I ponder about the Xray is the shocks use RTR type inserts to adjust the shock spring. I believe the Mugen is the same. Why do they use these rather than a threaded shock body?

Because it's quicker to adjust and balance the shocks with clips than to try and adjust a clogged up with dirt threaded shock.

Because that's the best way. It's faster and more accurate than threads.
RTR type inserts. LOL

If Mugen, XRAY and Kyosho are using it it should tell you something.

GO WITH AN OCM EVO YOU GET THE GOOD LOOK OF THE XRAY AND THE PERFORMANCE OF THE MUGEN BUT I A BETTER PACKAGE AT A CHEAPER PRICE.

no get a kyosho, no get a mugen, no get an xray, no get the ocm, no get the eight, no get the rc8. everyone that tells you what to get because they have one.
and ford is better than chevy.

i have owned both of them the xray has better quality but the mugen is easier to drive and setup thats why i said go with an ocm evo you can get them at a main for under $400 hundred right know and A.B. said he would give a set of free plastic with proof of purchase.i have had about every car on the market from hyper7 to the losi eight and my ocm drives and handles as good as any of them and is really good on the track its really a great buy.
