trying to break in new engine! Temp too low! Help?

OK Here's the deal. I've got a newly setup XT2 terminator buggy. I've personally set all the carb specs to factory default (I didn't trust the settings from the factory since this was a RTR setup).

I'm able to get it to run fine (actually it's burning gas like mad, way rich), but it's only running at most 120 degrees F and burn-in is supposed to be several runs of 190 degrees F. I've put a full tank of 20% through it already. I don't want to run it again until I know I can get it up to 190. What am I doing wrong here?

I actually tried that, I wrapped some tin foil around the entire head assembly while running is for 3-5 minutes. still it only got up to about 120 degrees :(

That's funny 'cause as a noob I was gonna post if that's a reasonable break in method. I read the article and it seemed kinda off from the other methods I read. What do you all think?

Don't know what article that is but i use [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=397]this[/link] method. Cover the head and lean the needles a little. Factory setting are usually too rich, even for break in.

I did some more research last night and found that the factory settings are probably running the carb waaaay too rich which may be causing the low temperature and fast fuel burnoff.

I'm going to lean off the HSN and also run the good ol' tin-foil (+ sock if needed) to get it up there.

BTW, if ya'll want a really good (tested and proved) break-in plan, check here 6th post down (by fuelman): http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_27..._1/key_/tm.htm
