FUEL & PLUG
Hi to everybody,
I have a few questions so i talk to some people here in the hobby shops, and after some talks with these people, now i'm much more confused and ignorant. My question: Engine: Hyper .21 8 port (Hyper 7 TQ PRO), hyper .28 pull start (the one that comes with the HoBao ST RTR) Right now i'm using this..... Plug: MC-9 Fuel: 30% nitro I use this stuff with a temperature of between 15 and 35°C, and between 0 - 1100 MT over sea level What i'm using is right???...should i use another kind of fuel or plug??? Do you know were i could read about this stuff to learn more?? Thank's guys |
RE: FUEL & PLUG
There's no hard and fast rules about it, so you'll have trouble tracking down a guide. Personally, I'm not sure how elevation affects the decision (though I know that it can), but I can offer the following...
Bigger displacement, higher ambient temp, higher nitro %, all equal cooler plug. Smaller displacement, lower ambient temp, lower nitro %, all equal hotter plug. I realise you probably know all that, but I don't know what else I can say that may help... |
RE: FUEL & PLUG
It all sounds good to me. Some may suggest a different nitro content but that's really not necessary. A nitro content of 30% is a hot and respectable mix. In fact, just to get a little more longevity out of my engines I run 20%. The important thing is to use the same fuel all of the time as your engine is used to running on the mix you've used from the beginning.
Thje MC-9 plug sounds like the right plug to use, especially with 8-port Hyper .21 and the 30% nitro content in your fuel. I used to have a link to a site that explains plug ranges in combination with different formulated fuels, but can't seem to find it at the moment - sorry... |
RE: FUEL & PLUG
Great guys, thank's.
aeromite, if you find that link, could you please post it??? Foxy...i didn't know that [:o] [:o], thank's :D :D :D I can see that my knowledge about 4 cycle engines in this matter dosen't apply. (higher compresion, higher RON range you need to prevent detonation, etc etc etc) For what i have seen, at sea level, i have to set up a much richer mix than at 1100 MTS over sea level, that's the only thing that i have find out, and really, i think that everyone (even me) knows that (sea level, more density of the air, more oxigen that standing at 1100 MTS over the sea level) |
