2 speed problem
 

hi all

Not so long ago i installed a 2 speed in my buggy with out to many problems. i have only taken it for a few runs and im impressed with the extra top end and its quicker off the mark, but yesterday i took it out and it wasn't changing gear staying in first, then after a few runs it decided to start changing, took it for another run this morning an again it wasn't changing any ideas on what to check, i have tried to adjust the clutch but didn't help.

my lst is the same the engine won't produce max rpm until the engines up to temp the second gear work on centrefugal force so requires rev's to get it to work try running the buggy up to temp before gunning it and then it should change gear hope this helps

sounds like sound advice and will give it another go, but i dont think that is the problem as yesterday i took it for a run up and down my street when it was cold and it changed fine, then when i took it down to the bmx track it wouldnt change for ages like about 1 and a half tanks and then just decided to start changing, also later that day i ran it cold and it was changing. but today it wasnt strange a.

what two speed is it? is the two peed a retro fit or build for yuor buggy.

most two speeds work on the principle of a centrifugal clutch, and if the clutch gets wet, or gets any oil on it it will not change gears, or will need to spin very fast to change, so make sure the gear set is dry, if you know what your doing it might be worth pulling the setup apart and checking the clutch.
