Steering/ throttle servo
I just got a MBX5 and it came with standard servos.. Obviously im going to have to change them out. I want to know what the best bang for your buck servo would be for both steering and throttle? This buggy will be raced at the track. Id like to know what the minimium requirement for torque should be so i dont go overboard. thanks
Does anyone think this servo would be up to the task of steering or no? http://www.servocity.com/html/hs-5985mg_servo.html |
RE: Steering/ throttle servo
That should work fine.

RE: Steering/ throttle servo
I ran a blue bird BMS620MG in my buggy, I think I paid $24 for it and its got 144oz and .13 or .10sec speed and it works great aslong as your radio has EPA. steering you want atleast 140oz of torque and .15 speed, and for throttle you want atleast 85oz of torque and .15 speed the spektrum Z590 is a good cheap throttle servo you can get 2 of them on ebay for $30

RE: Steering/ throttle servo
I see that nitro house has the blue bird servos, I was going to try one but I am very happy with the airtronics.

RE: Steering/ throttle servo
For the specs and everything, the Bluebird seems to be a REALLY good deal. I am BRAND NEW to the sport and know nothing, so what do you mean by "as long as your radio has EPA"????? I have no idea what that means, I am purchasing a DX2 radio this week and am curious as to if the Spektrum DX2 has EPA or is compatible. Thanks for the info.

RE: Steering/ throttle servo
Can someone tell me, will the Bluebird servos work with the Spektrum DX2 radio. The whole EPA thing confuses me. Thanks
|
RE: Steering/ throttle servo
epa is end point adjustment, means the servo is electronically stopped so it doesnt damage anything by pulling itsself to far. the dx2 has this so youll be grand with any servo. have you looked at aces servos? incredable for the price..

RE: Steering/ throttle servo
Do your self a favor and buy the best servo's you can afford. The cheap ones dont last it will be cheaper in the long run and SET your EPA's.........

RE: Steering/ throttle servo
Are BlueBird servos considered cheap servos. Will they poop out on me real quick compared to others? They just seem like REALLY good specs at a REALLY good price. Is this a case of " too good to be true " ????? Thanks

RE: Steering/ throttle servo
can someone tell me if a digital servo will work with a dx2 straight from the package or is there other equipment to purchase with the servo?

RE: Steering/ throttle servo
Nice questions SOOOOOperx? SALLY?

RE: Steering/ throttle servo
In my opinion you want at least 170oz of torque and a speed of .13 or better for steering. Like the saying goes you get what you pay for and there is no substitute for good servos.
