RE: e-maxx tranny for electric conversion?
I don't know, but why not use the proven center diff and do a regular conversion? The Monster Truck tranny gearing may not give you the speed you might want.
I'm also curious how the VXL ESC would do, but it also limits you to 11.2 volts (3 cell LIPO). The VXL might very well push a good strong motor quite well on the 11 volts, but the Velineon motor isnt enough to move the rig with any power / speed. RE: e-maxx tranny for electric conversion?
I'm partial to Dan at www.RCProductDesigns.com
He, and others who are working with him have put a ton of work into the "total systems" needed to develope this new class within the sport. There are tons of details to be worked out, beyond the motor and battery mounts, ESC being just the start, a BEC and extra cooling, as well as the extra powerful motors themselves. Whilst we used a Feigao 540XL motor for our Phase I test platform (Jammin X1CR), the NEU motors are thought to be the best value for the money. We intend to upgrade as soon as we can, more info here: www.NeuMotors.com In addition to the Forum postings on Dans site, the following is quite a good FOrum to spend some time studying: http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=158327 (in addition to my post(s) here at RCU) Good luck, feel free to post questions and other comments on my RCU "Adventures of Building a Brushless Race.... " posting elsewhere on this site. |
