took my storm to the track for the first run around on the dirt, man i was all over the place! i need to learn how to let off the throttle sometimes! haha, i didnt break anything thank the lord. they just redid our track and it has a crazy huge jump right in front of the driver stand. its pretty awesome. any tips on how not to do barrell rolls off of the landing part of it????? lol, i landed smooth a few times but i was tail heavy a lot of the time. thanks
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
If you were heavy tail landing just lighten up on the throttle a little right before you land...... Youshould land perfectly flat if you do. Letting up on the throttle just before landing should drop the nose.
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
cool, thanks...i'll have to give that a try next time. right now i'm trying to find a place that my cousin and i can build our own track. something pretty simple but cool but still looking for a piece of land to put it on. anyone have any ideas ??
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
For flight school for me, when i jump i have to gun it, or give it gas form not nose diving and fliping. Thats cool with me to cuz i land and go! What i learned my first time at the track, after the straight away slow down like 20 feet before the turn! And lay off the throttle!! THAT HELPS!!!

Official Storm Thread!!!
hey i have a question about the rechargeable batteries for my radio. can i just use any cheap kind of rechargeables from a random store or do i really need the $3 per battery ones from the hobby shop??
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
I think either will work well, but your servos will perform better with better batterys. Buy the good ones for the car pack, and save the money on the transmitter batteries, besides the transmitter takes twice as many batt. as the RX also...
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
thanks man, i'm gonna buy a pack for the receiver so i'll get the reg. ones for my radio.
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
I dont know how much voltage the hobby recharibles produce, but i have the energizer rechargebles and they only produce 1.2v and total thats 9.8v, thats not enough for a radio. Store bought batts produce 1.5vand that totals to 12v which is great. You can get the lithium rechagebles and they produce 1.5v each but they are more expensive somthing like $15 for 4.
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
I got the Nova racing head and its BAD @$$!!! its huge and all chromed out. It makes the engine look like a $300 engine!
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
They make AA lithium rechargeables that put out 1.5volts? do they require a special charger? Whats the manufacture of the Lithium rechargeables?
To be honest, and I know it isnt real enviromentally friendly, disposable alkaline AA batterys put out 1.5 volts (AWESOME VOLTAGE), and they last a LONG time. Plus when they start to die, they drop voltage very slowly where as the Nicad rechageables fall on their face voltage wise when they start to drop voltage. RCharry yea the 1.2 volts is weak. My radios low battery alarm goes off at 9.2 volts I think! |
Official Storm Thread!!!
mine goes off at 8.9 volts... (jr racing xr3)
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
yeah mine goes off at 9.0v or somthing like that too. Yeah the lithuim need a special charger. There overnight chargers by Energizer. Yeah the charger and 4 batt go for like $30 bux, and you can get 4 more batts for $13 bux a package.

Official Storm Thread!!!
Hey Gman, what do you think the prob is with that guy on RCZ?? i think im having the same prob, but am not sure.
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
why do they include a 3 channal radio when the storm rtr only needs 2? I was thinking that earlyer.
Also i ordered a bunch of parts to hop it up to a pro. Hows everyones racing doing? Any wins? |
Official Storm Thread!!!
they do? I was gonna get a storm...maybe they can get the s cheaper than the 2 channels(DUH thats a stupid guess!!) but how good are the storms at acceleration, ETC...?
|
Official Storm Thread!!!
Most of the radios in the Mid level (cost wise) have a 3rd channel. The really cheap radios generally are the only ones with 2 channels only.
