RE: Electric conversion? Proes and cons
There are several threads on this in this section. Just search for "conversion," which is how I found all the info I know.
In a nutshell, after you spend the money for the conversion and get it put together and working, you will end up with something that is much simpler to operate - essentially just plug in and go. If you like that sort of thing, then go for it. However, pretty much everything else about it is subjective - whether you like the way electrics drive, whether you like the simplicity of operating them, etc etc. I personally like the powerband of nitro engines vs electric engines, and I personally like the "realistic" complexity of nitros vs the (IMO) "toy-like" simplicity of electrics. |
RE: Electric conversion? Proes and cons
Yes electric is faster and instant power but they just do not have any solo! All so to this point there is not a class for 1/8 electric buggies in any sanction racing that I know of. I am sure one day this will change. Make sure you buy plenty of batteries and chargers so if you want to run all day you will be able to. With nitro just stop fill up and go again. I think a person should run what ever they want and nitro is for me. LOL

RE: Electric conversion? Proes and cons
I would go nitro. I used to be a diehard electric fan up untill about a week ago. Got my raze and love it. I love the smell, noise, and speed of nitro. Only bad thing is the mess they make and nitro costs.

If you want to go to the track and play all day or most of it continues running you only need 2 liPo batteries with out having to wait for them to charge. Cool but I still like nitro better. LOL:D

RE: Electric conversion? Proes and cons
More torque AND speed attracts me to electric. Better lap times convinces me that I made the right choice. Ease of use is just a bonus.
