Check to see if you throttle linkage has come off of the carb. Also do you have trim adjustements on your radio? If so you will have a throttle trim adjustment and you might have turn it by mistake making your throttle open when you turn the switches on.

throttle is down all the way and carb isnt leaking. I cleaned it yesterday and I am still having the problem.

even when you turn the buggy and controller on? It means nothing when it is off. Also turn them on (not start it) and give it gas and brake and see if your controls are backwards like when you hit the brake it might open the throttle. Also you idle might be too way too high if you messed with it.

no, the controls arent backwards, the car still (with the servos off) goes full speed.

[sm=confused.gif] Remove you air filter and look down your carb and push your slide to the carb all the way down and see if it closes all the way. Maybe something is hanging up on the slide.

Still, I am starting to think I need a new carb or engine.

Looks fine to me. If that slide is that closed and it is revving up then you HAVE TO HAVE a air leak somewhere. Make sure you carb is all the way down. Make sure the cap on the side of your carb in not cracked and make sure the backing plate on the motor is not coming loose. Those are all the places that can suck air into the motor like if the carb was open that I know of. Hopefully someone else chimes in here with a different idea. Should not be a bad motor.

Reset your needle settings. Your high speed needle looks way to lean. Also theres no picture of your air cleaner but clean that too. Make sure there isnt to much oil on it.

I agree the high speed needle looks way too far in (3 turns out from closed is a good starting point).
