Engine Brands TOP List

What do you think who will be first or second or third? I list some cases. For example: OS, RB, Novarossi stands that OS is the best and Novarossi the worst from the other ones. Please share, just wanna know what you guys think who will must be in the top.

I know there are other brands too but i couldn't because there are so many. If you want put your own opinions through your posts ;)

Uh yea, not very many choices.

RE: Engine Brands TOP List

Sorry guys, i know that but i couldn't add even one more choice because i would need a 4! which is equal to 24 choices. I have to add maximum 10 choices, so that's why i add 3 brands only. If you have another choice, then tell me to add it and vote for it ;)

yeah, i need a good .21 for my 8ight when it gets here, i'm on a strict budget of about $250...anyone wanna point me in the right direction?

btw, my OFNA Hyper 7 Pro is coming with a Omega Picco .21 motor that has been recently broken in, think i should just use that on the 8ight?

250 is a good price range, meaning you have a lot of choices, I'm a fan of RB engines (no I did not vote) the S7 non L2G is a great engine, also check out GO tech engines or STS, to name a few. But i would think the RBS7 would be a gret choice, they last forever and hold a tune really well from my expierence. Good luck.

I had a werks-lamberto collari b3. It ran sweeet until it blew up (my fault). Too bad I cant get parts for it[&o]

yeah, sts's are good but crank on the d21b snaps at about 4-5 gallons. happened to me twice. new crank and bearings $50 for a $124 motor. still can't beat the performance for the price. i kept mine for club racing.

I had an STS .21T. It was Dadders modded stage II and presumably an XTM factory driver's backup engine.

The bearings had a lot of play in them after break in and there was mega crank walk. The carb did not tune well and the the brass on the end of the slide broke.

Dont get me wrong, it was a fast engine. I idled well too. I ran it up and down the sidewalk after break in and the crank broke. The nub where the rod attaches to sheared right off.

They had quality issues. I don't know if they were fixed, but I hope they were.

Meh, I thought about trying different engines... But I can't find a reason to get away from GO. I'm SO satisfied with my Go 3 'sport'. It has 7.5 gallons on runs like a bat out of hell. I'm thinking im about to step up to the Go 5 Port. For 210 it can't be beat IMO.

How bout the XTM 457 6 port? Its a SH motor. I have it and have almost 5 gallons through it and it still holds good compression. I think its a good engine for 170 bucks.

And please dont bash.

NovaRossi, GRP, RB, Picco/Jammin, O.S.

Thats what mine would be.

SH does make good engines, they produce good power, and not too dramatic with tune. Ive run nearly all the .28's they make, and I really liked them. Use them for my bash engines, only use the powerhouses while racing :D.

Lets get this straight there Nik...............no its not because I sell them, if I was going to advertise that I would have done so on the thread..................its because Werks engines slame the others in the poll, but I wouldn't expect you to know that so why don't you do a little research before you go slamming my advise. Oh and I have 3 of those 4 mentioned engines in stock at my shop. How many do you have Nik?

Osirisf16 06-20-2008 05:36 AM

RE: Engine Brands TOP List

hey guys, i change the choices. Please choose what you prefere OF ALL engines. If i put all these brands into series, i will fill a whole page of choices, LOL :D

RE: Engine Brands TOP List

Then make it multiple selection.

EG: Some people like 2 brands of engines the same.

Eg : Novarossi + Picco...

Just having them as stock doesn't really mean that you have any experience with them. Out of the current list, I have 3. Two OS Vspecs, a Novarossi +21-5k, and a couple of SH made engines. Thats not counting the Werks-collari and STS .21t I have.

I have broken-in, tuned, and ran all of these engines. So I think I can say my opinion form experience.

Well if having engines sitting on a shelf means you have experience from them , then hell I could go on about 7 other engines I have besides the three I carry with to races as back ups . :D

I thought about that, but NO. I prefer like this. Those who like 2 brands are those who can't figure wich is the best of those 2. For example, i like OS and Sirio but i like OS more than the Sirio ;)
