i jus bought a ofna 9.5 used, but never ran. it has a woven graphite shock towers, graphite front brace, graphite servo holder, and front and rear aluminum braces. it also has a brand new sirio .21.
quik question what starter boxes r u guys usin on ur buggies? the 1 that came with mine doesn't seen to hav enough torque to start the sirio .21.

I use an Ofna chrome top that came "ready to run" (with 12v battery and power panel) but I recently got rid of the Gel-Cell battery and put in two stick packs. Whichever starter box you do go with, just remember to SAY NO TO THE GEL-CELL! Dual stick packs give you more voltage, meaning more power to start your high compression engine. Another option some people are doing is using a 4s Lipo pack.

mine has 2 550 motors. im not sure but i think that one in the link has 2 540 motors. im old fashion so i use a 12v 7A battery(no stick packs for me)

did you have to convert yours to use stick packs?

Bud, check to see that you're getting enough voltage to the motor, as youwish and musclecar have mentioned. Also keep in mind if that's a brand new engine (as in it's never even been broken in yet) you will face a few challenges there just trying to get it to turn over mate.

pre heat the motor with a real high power hair dryer or a heat gun then your box will probably spin it over.... if you are new to nitro read the FAQ at the top of the nitro engine forum too....there is heaps of usefull info in there dude :)

i am also interested in this topic, as i picked up my first buggy today, which happens to be an ofna 9.5 which i got used, so what do you guys think of it in terms of a beginners race buggy?

Very strong car from what i understand. Not bad for an entry or beginner type of car. Don't own one myself, but a lot of people at our local track here drive that one and really like it.

Remember, practice, practice, practice and have fun...oh an practice:D

The batteries that come with that chrome top are JUNK. Go get a 12v motorcycle battery, even a gel cell and it is WAY better and WAY more power than the hobby crap batteries!

I just went from 2 venom 3300 nimh packs to a 12v gel cell and could not be more pleased ... the 14.4 volts off of the stick packs would be back on the charger half way through the day ... I have a 2 day race this weekend and this gel cell will make it from friday to sunday night nicely ... very convenient ... I guess we all have our preference ...

Quick way to find out if its your battery your using (power wise). Hook it up to your car battery if thats not enough power to turn it over then its the box. I broke my RB in hooking my box up to my car batt worked perfectly. Now that the motors broke in it turns over fairly easy. Heating up the engine is always a good idea especially for break in did that for mine. Saved me alot of frustration turned over on 2nd try.

thanks for all th ideas guys. about the car battery how would u go around hooking that up to the box? and how do u covert to the dual stick packs idea that seems like it would work also. i guess ill has to run to the hobby shop tommow to get the volts tested to c if the mottor is gettin the power.
i did heat it up with a hair drier to bout 150 or so, and i almost got but my idle was to low.
im not new to nitro this is actually my fourth nitro.
