losi 8ight, what is the difference between the kit and the rtr? shock caps, chassis and what else?

i can get a eight rtr roller with pro upgrades except shock caps annd chassis for $225, good deal?

The shock towers are different too I think, but by the time you upgrade you would be dangerously close to a new race roller.

thanks for the info.

do you think its a good deal? im trying to find a good deal because i want to change buggies and my motor let go in practice on saturday so instead of paying 450 for a kit and not having money for a motor i can buy this rtr roller and a motor for 450

Find you a used pro roller and and buy a motor under 200 bucks

Sounds like a good deal, but I'm not sure about the chassis holding up to the harshness of racing.

i bought a RTR roller for $275 a couple months back, i ended up upgrading EVERYTHING and now i just have a $1500 8ight that should have been around $900. But if you're gonna upgrade, upgrade to the TFT chassis and the nicer front shock tower first, then get the rear shock tower and the rest is cosmetic.

well its a rtr roller but everything has already been upgraded except shock caps and chassis. the towers and other rtr stuff was changed already

stock chassis bends and eats throttle servos, upgrade it ASAP....and the plastic shock caps are weak and break fairly easy

I would make sure the hinge pins and shock shafts are gold ... if they are not then its not been upgraded ... I have bought rtr used and new as well as rollers and a kit ... like was said you can run through cash like nothing fixing stuff ( stripped plastic where things wont tighten , bolts superglued and so on ) what scares me is that they say everything is upgraded ecxept the things that you can see . Also and I dont know if its on safetyhawks list the hinge pin braces are machined and not stamped which makes a huge difference in the strenth of the buggy in collision ... I am just saying that I have watched and bought nib race roller for $425 on ebay ... also though if you do get the $200 8ight it could be real nice for parts ...

i'd still pay $225 for a RTR roller, they're strong even when they're RTR
