Help Blue Bird Servos

Has any one tried the Blue Bird servo like they sell at NitroHouse.com. Are they worth it, at 1/2 the price as the servos I use now I was thinking of trying some in the new D8

RE: Help Blue Bird Servos

servos, servos, servos, everyone has a different story. i've had 4 blue birds and 1 still works. best $40 servo i've tried but for $80 you can get an ace 1013 that is the best high end-low price servo you can get. i spent over $200 on other $10-$40 servos in 1/2 the time i've had my ace. servos are the meat of your ride so don't skimp on that if you can.

I've never tried one myself, because of the horrible reviews I saw about them. I can't say from firsthand experience, but everyone I asked told me they suck.

RE: Help Blue Bird Servos

I have tried them a few years ago. Never actually had the internals fail, but the outside case is a hard brittle plastic. All other servos the outside case is flexible but the blue bird ones are a very hard plastic. If they cop a hit from anything the mounting lugs just snap off. This was about 3 years ago that i tried them, unsure if they are still made out of the same material or not. Not really game to try them again. I have had success with the tower pro servos if your chasing cheap servos. But I have also heard of other people having trouble with them so they may be a bit of a lottery. But at the price they are worth it i think.
