Servo for RC8

Is Futaba servo 9451 better then team associated xp servos? I am trying to choose which servo to put in my rc8. i already have a futaba 3PK

RE: Servo for RC8

If I am not mistake the 9451 only has 121 OZ of torque and my opinion you should have at least 175 OZ or more. Associated has two servos which are made by ACE DS 1015 and DS1313.

i would say go with the ace 1013. 201 oz at .10 sec and its only $96. the futaba servo you are looking for is 192 oz at .13 sec and its $120.

I think he means a 1015 not a 1013. I run both a 1015 and a 1313 in my Hyper 8.5 and they work well. As I said the Associated servos are made by ACE and are the same thing out then the sticker on them.

I have run the ace servos since they came out in all my buggies with only one failure (and that was probibly my fault) go ACE dont let the fact that they are Thunder Tiger stop you from trying them

RE: Servo for RC8

i WILL NOT recommend Ace anymore....ive seen Way too many failure's in the last 6 month's. 79XX series Hitec is the way to go imo.

Integra, I had only heard about the 1313s having failure problems. Have you seen the 1015s
having problems as well?

I was hoping that there was just a bad batch of 1313s out there and
that they would eventually work themselves out of circulation.

I wondered if there would be issues ... only reason I ever suggest ace servos is I figured Integra put them to the test ... ace was the next servos I was going to grab .

I use DS1015's on both throttle/brake and steering in my RC8. They're awesome, perfect pair for a buggy.

1015 gears left and right....i used to run them without problems.....but then they started to go south...for me and Multiple of my buddy's....i cant count how many 1015's ive rebuilt to only have fail again and again.....the 1313 issue was with the top case....the center pin retainer didnt have any reinforcement on it and would break...causing the servo to go Crazy tring to center itself....Ace fixed that Long time ago....i still run 1015's...but not in my race rigs....i do know some guys a little south of my that run the AE branded one's with no problem's...but the fact remain's......ive seen Way too many fail to even think on trusting them again....when a 1015 fails's and a 5955 dosent...what else am i supposed to think......the Ace motor's are good.....ive only personally seen a couple have electronic issues....most of the time its the gear's.

myself I look to have a couple descent extras to sell or trade(when they are around for cheap) I suggest ace to guys although in my area have only seen maybe 2 in area ... really though the most torque ace servo is what I was going to buy for myself next time I needed , just seems like a good price if it will last ..

I bought a Hitec 7955TG and its a 333oz and .13 @ 6v for steering and a Hitec 6975HB for throttle/brake servo and its rated at 144oz and .10 @ 6v and this on my new RC8 also using a 3PKS radio in HRS mode

RE: Servo for RC8

I run Hitec HS7955 on both the steering and the throttle on my two Factory tem RC8's!! Never a failure!!

RE: Servo for RC8

Keep in mind the higher the torque the more drain on the battery and 175 to 200oz of torque is enough. I have run many brands of servos Futaba, Hitec and so on and have had some failure with all of them. Eventually everything wears out or breaks with the abuse these vehicles go throw it is no wonder.
