Does exponential setting on radio reduce wheelspin
 

I have an Spectum DX3R and I'm wondering if changing the exponential setting on the throttle servo can reduce wheelspin. I know I can reduce wheelspin at the clutch, but if there's a way to control it on the fly with the Expo setting as track conditions change then that would be cool

expos screw up my perception, Id rather keep it linear.

tune your clutch.

Once you have set up the expo in the DX3R it will remain that way it can't be changed, but there is a switch you can use to adjust the sensitivity or EPA of the brake, this will also affect the throttle on the low end, a throttle curve will fix the problem as I have the same problem too, but the DX3R does not has one, it is really the only thing I don;t like of the radio, I placed a preorder for the new one anyway.

I'm trying to see how will the DX3S solve this, as they have a new function called throttle Punch, tried to download the manual but there is an error in their system.

On the mean time you can use either the expo, or move the servo arm away from the regular center and engine, this will give you some mechanical expo in the bottom only, but you have to readjust the EPA and the brakes.

Its a good way to tame down throttle response especially with offroad cars.
I run all my cars with at least -25% exponential.
Makes for smoother corner exits and control.
I always recommend guys to do it since most guys drive with the throttle like a on/off switch

Think about it !! If you drove your 1:1 car would you apply the throttle like you do you RC ?? ;)

I use expo on the throttle and LOVE it. I've played around with 10 to 30% negative and settled on 25. IMO it makes me a much smoother driver and helps quite a bit.

My 2 cents worth only.



Also: The comment was made that the DX3R's expo cannot be changed once set, is this correct? This seems odd to me, I have the standard DX3 and it's expo is fully adjustable. Are you sure about this?

They dont drive like that Here in So Cal.
Our freeways look like Black Friday parking lots.
