CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just want to drive it back to back against my ZX1-R and see how different, if at all, it feels! Going to take longer though as I have to build this one from scratch.

yup, gotta love sitting in the middle of the living room holding tools and being surrounded by 78 small bags of parts for 8 hours straight. but whats cool is you can do all your "little stuff" to it along the way.

Well, it seemed the concensus of the R/C world was that everyone wished for kits again.....Of course, we listen to our customers and make it happen.

Well it finally arrived today! Kit is pretty sweet and well organized. Will be posting pics of the build soon! I love the bottom of the Chassis, it has engraved in huge letters ZX1.5R.

RE: ***OFFICIAL 2009 CASTER RACING ZX1.5R***

I am at work right now but can post pics later this evening. This thing is sweet. The diff gears look WAY BETTER and are slightly bevel cut ring and pinions. NO NEED FOR SHIMMING the diff in the bulkhead, FITS PERFECT. The ring and pinions are so smooth now it ain't even funny. The outdrives look the same but the shafts that go into the diff case are slight shorter and also the pinion gear looks like the toughest one I have ever seen, Also is lighter too with a huge hole drilled in the center. Front shock tower is alot shorter therefore you can get alot more droop and the holes are alot closer together which will lay the shocks down more. Servo saver threads are alot more course and will prevent stripping of it like what was easy to do on the previous model. Hinge pins look alot harder and are different color. Steering rod ends are captured and the plastic ball end is way thicker and stronger so should not break anymore. Also no need to put spacers under the ackerman plate ball or knuckle one to get rid of bumpsteer as the new captured ones sit on a post and automatically to this for you. That is all I can see as of now. I will post more later as I find out.

what? like we're gonna be upside down that much. or is it as we fly over the track clearing all kinds of jumps from the crazy grenade power and super light buggy that thats all that will be seen. yeah...

guess i have to wait to see it in 2 weeks then.

Well here are some pics. Other things I noticed are it now comes with a Oval Air filter and it also comes with ferodo brake discs and brake free springs to keep the pads away from the disc.

Also after installing the shocks I found out it has way more front droop than the ZX1-R because of how much shorter the shock towers are. The new towers will bolt onto the old ZX1-R if you wanted to upgrade too. Here are more pics.

beautiful. new diffs, new o-rings, new crown/pinion, new radio tray, new shock towers, new blocks, new hinge pins, how about new more durable outdrives? looks like more than a 1.5 upgrade kit is needed. with more droop don't we loose steering, i remember i had to remove droop to get them wheels to come around. the build is beautiful but we want to see the drive.

If you mean you had to remove droop to get your wheels to turn all the way on your ZX1-R then your pillow balls are screwed in too much. That will cause the front suspension to bind and you would have to do what you did. You should have 2-3 threads showing on your top pillow ball and about 4-6 on your bottom pillow ball. The buggy outdrives on the 1.5R are a little different and the shaft that goes into the diff housing is a little shorter but the hole is in the same place. The outdrives for the buggy are fine IMO. I am still running my original ones on my ZX1-R. The K8T's are a little soft.
